The past few weeks after the general elections have been a very eventful, and rather amusing one, as far as the political situation in Nigeria is concerned. I have read different submissions concerning the outcome of the elections, especially the presidential; the most amusing one is the one that says the president-elect should not be sworn in until the election tribunal delivers her judgment. 

While this submission should be the norm, our constitution says otherwise. Irrespective of how long it takes for the election tribunal to reach its judgment, the date of the swearing of elected officers remains sacrosanct. This will not be the first time, and neither the second, that we will be having this situation. 

Instead of wasting our time calling to anarchy, we should rather look to change the Constitution. The foundation of any democracy is its constitution and calling for the rule to be sidelined is equivalent to calling for anarchy. 

Rules are rules, even if they don't favor us now.

In the Schrödinger's Cat experiment, a cat is placed in a box with a radioactive atom, a Geiger counter, and a vial of poison. If the radioactive atom decays, it will trigger the Geiger counter, which will break the vial of poison, killing the cat. However, until we open the box, we cannot know whether the atom has decayed or not. Therefore, according to the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, the cat is both alive and dead at the same time.

This experiment raises some interesting questions about the nature of reality. If a cat can be both alive and dead at the same time, what else can be in a state of superposition? And if our reality is not what it seems, what does that mean for our understanding of the universe?
