Being a teacher, I'm always going to school early, just like others. I'm the type who does not like going late, and everyone knew me for that aspect. Even the school principal had told me that I should keep it up and this kept boosting my morale in my working space.

Other teachers wanted to copy my tactics, but they were unable to meet with it. One of my friends had to inform me to call him whenever I'm up preparing to make him wake up early, which I agreed to. Although, I had asked him if he can be able to meet even after waking him up, but he said there was no problem. 


As I got home that evening after touring round my lesson students, I got tired. My wife was surprised with my nature that day, but then she had to rush to the kitchen to prepare me with some good meals. At first, she went to the market to buy those items and wasted some time in the market. According to her, she was held back just because of the traffic. She came late and prepared food late. I had to eat late with my situation of tiredness. 

I called my children and my wife for prayers. The fat remains that, even my children were exhausted, and they were sleeping while we were having the night fellowship. I preached and then, my wife had to pray just to conclude the fellowship. We all landed ourselves in the bed. 

I slept just like a baby and I did not know when my wife prepared food and did not even know when the day got break. The only thing I knew was seeing my wife woke me up. She said, “go and take your bath”. This was unlike me. I never behaved this way since I resumed that term, but then the situation called for it. I thank her for waking me up and for preparing my dish. I immediately jumped to the bathroom and had my bath. 


When I was done eating, I had to take my leave to the school. I was also early enough to beat up the time, although I was not as early as usual. No one noticed that anyway. Immediately I saw my friend, I was shocked, but then what should I say? I had to tell him that I would have called him, but my phone went off. This was a heavy lie I have cooked up. 


When I got home that day, I was tired and relaxed again. I ate earlier than before going to bed. Although, this has been my usual routine each day. 

The next morning, I woke up early and took my phone wanting to call, but I thought calling him will not be the best option. I dropped my phone. After five minutes, something was telling me to call again, but I said to myself that: “why should I call him?” 
I got to the school early as usual. My friend came late to school and said I caused his lateness. I began to look for another excuse to give him. Without thinking twice, I had to tell him that my wife took my phone to his shop to search for something and forgot to take it back that morning. “No one was able to go take the phone a d besides, I forgot that we had discussed something like that”, he agreed but was a little angry. It was showing in his face. 


The Monday after that day, I was not ready to wake up early, and I decided to sleep until it was past 7 in the morning. When I got to the school, although classes had not yet commenced, and I was not having classes not until the third period. 

When I got to the school, I never knew that query was waking for me for coming late. My principal asked what happened that I was late today, of all days. “The traffic was too much today”, I lied, but did not escape the query. It was just as if my principal had planned me. Although he would have overlooked my situation, but was unable to just because of my colleagues who had received countless queries in their files. They would grumble if they heard I was not served query”.

After that day, I was always early as before and promised not to stain my personality never again.
