Yeah I laugh at the people who make it a dramatic scene to post they are leaving, only to surface a few months later in some comments or a post and re-announce some life changing bullshit or something. Some may have had a life change truly, but some are just full of shit and wanted to see if they can get sympathy votes for coming back lol.

I as well don't know if I can take a break from the place. I have been having some issues finding the motivation to get some posts out there and have slacked on it a bit lately sadly but quit? Hell no! I don't have enough things going on in my life to quit and do something else lol. I am stashing away everything I can here and using the bear market as an opportunity to grow my stake a lot faster than I did in the bull. 

It's most certainly relative for the bear and bull cycle. We get "more" liquid rewards in the bear cycle but that's because the value is lower. When it's a bull cycle we get "less" liquid because it's worth more and it's an interesting mental game with that. Bigger numbers are better in many situations, except sometimes in ratios! I'd rather more liquid now than higher token value because I want to grow and laugh at the attention seeking rage-quitters. 

I guess my perspective was a little different from the start because *(unlike many)* I'd already been blogging for almost 20 years when I got involved here. 

My motivation for coming/going is mostly tied to the extent to which I feel comfortable that my content is *"safe"* here *(meaning that there's no company to suddenly go bankrupt and flush 10 years of creativity down the toilet),* and that the venue itself hasn't turned into a giant circus of nothing put *"spam and scam"* content... because I'd rather not my content be drowned out by a flood of total garbage.

Otherwise, I can't really think of a good reason to quit. EVEN if I had to power down everything for some financial emergency...

I wish I could spend more time creating on Hive. I am one that goes in waves and it is because I have life to deal with. 

I have been here for a long time now and even when I'm not creating on one of my several accounts, I'm still watching and trying to learn. Anyway, I've seen some folks do what you say and quit, but the one's I've seen all quit because of "bullying". It's the one reason I question downvotes. 

I believe we are entitled to our own opinion on how to handle things but should be done in a reasonable manner. Quitting is never a good option and even if it is a final decision doesn't need to be announced because sometimes it is caused by mood of the person or challenges been faced but taking a break would be appropriate so that whenever such person feels like coming back the platform is opened to welcome their presence again.

Hi @tarazkp ,My opinion: I have been in this panel for 2 year, the principles are complicated, however perseverance always triumphs, I am persevering, I work constantly, I do not give up easily, what happens is many people want everything easy and fast, but everything takes its time, so they go in and out, they don't persevere, but it's an individual decision, it's my humble opinion

You made some great points which resonates woth me. I take it as it comes. Then nothing is a burden and remains enjoyable. I left before and came back over 18 months later. I did not plan to leave so I did not set up things to earn while I was away. Everyday I was returning in my mind as I thought of the stories and took the photos. Life just happened - differently. 
I do not know whether there were bulls or bears around. I knew I would come back though. I missed it. I am here now.

Quitting during the bear and coming back during a bull run is just dumb, that's how I see it at least. If people accumulate, power up and hold a decent amount of Hive during a bear market, then all that waiting, and the end result will be much more fruitful.  

I had a vague thought that the stress of quitting something thing might stem from the fact there's money tied to this thing, but then remembered dA days when people would angrily ragequit (I'M LEAVING DA 4EVA) for various reasons (and same deal again they would usually reappear days to weeks later and in some cases there were some people pretending the tantrum never happened or blaming it on their cousin hacking their computer or they have autism or something) so I don't think that's entirely it XD

The main difference is the way everyone jumps into Hive.

If you use it as the door to a new "world" where you experience interacting with others, jumping into web3.0, and socializing, you do not value the "economic" reward as much and feel rewarded with all the rest.
If your interest is only economic, I can see you getting burned as soon as a bear market enters and see your valuable account get cut by 50%, 60%, or 90%.

As with anything in life, only those who really enjoy what they do, beyond economic reward, remain in the game, and usually get quite good results in the long run, first because anything you do for a long period of time makes you much better at it, second because when you focus on learning and enjoying something much more than the outcome you can get out of it, you really put all your senses into what you are doing instead of looking every minute to the outcome.

So, as you say, anyone is free to leave, but if you are getting much more than an economic reward, what's the use of doing so?

... I thought there was a new rage quitter for a minute, or are you writing retrospectively? 😀

There can't be quitting HIVE, it is not sensible because HIVE is kind of lifetime investment which could be handed down from generation to generation. HIVE could be a part of our lifetime. If one thinks it is taking too much time, there can be only having a break, setting auto upvote on hivevote ;)

I am just new in blogging. It's hard to start a journey and I am still coping of what to do. But upon readkng this, I hope I won't think of quiting because now, I love hive already. 
Been busy reading this past few days about other user's post. 
I never thought that some likes to quit.

Shot you startled me with your opening sentences!

While is sucks when people choose to leave the party, it never made much sense to me to take all your toys and leave in a huff. Just leverage curation trails and auto vote tools and take a break. Almost as good and even easier is to stuff it in hbd savings and return richer after a break.
