I didn't buy my first Steem until Q1 2018.  Course, it was the day I got admission to the place.  I found out I could turn BTC (a teeny amount left over from a scam that I 'participated' in).  It amounted to 50 Steem.  I never once voted with delegated stake.  I didn't know how.

What I did know is that I was wildly excited about the possibility of the place and wanted some skin in the game.  I believe heavily in 'skin in the game'.  

I just went and looked to confirm what I've suspected for a while.  My account value is less than the total I have invested, and there is some serious 'acquisition through effort' included.

I hadn't looked for a month or more, because I really don't care.  I'm still excited about the potential and possibilities and want to be part of THAT.  

I put in and power up what I can.  It's the excitement, don't you know.

I think that it is good to have a sniff of the investor mentality air. It makes you have a vision for years to come and think about expanding. Always invest money that you put aside specifically for this purpose. The kind of money you can affort to jiggle with.

I noticed, that while I was earning, for example in Hive, as time goes buy, I naturally want to invest too. I guess you also have to 100 percent believe in the thing you are investing it. After all, time is the most valuable thing you can invest

There is a Venezuelan proverb that says: He who costs nothing, celebrates. I believe that there are many factors that we should take into account when investing. If I invest a million it is because I have 5 million. If I only have one million and I invest it, it is because I do not have any immediate responsibility in which I may need that million. My limited investment knowledge, but my very long knowledge of economics as a family member, makes me cautious about taking financial risks. I'm one of those who pencils in and does the math. If it took you a lot of effort to acquire something, it will surely be difficult to take that first step into the void. I haven't myself finincially invested into yet but I wouldn't rule it out as my mindset is changing as things grow. I have been mostly taking a 50/50 approach and have managed to double the 50 that I removed in other crypto moves ( more luck than judgement). I agree wit you about the taking ownership mindset as it makes us all stewards of where we all want to take this. I can see the whole platform evolving as we all move forward and other things becoming more viable within it. Lets have a chat next September and see where are both at with all this then. Will be interesting to see how this has all changed by then

I have bought some small amounts of ST++M and HIVE. That has either been from that I allocate myself as 'pocket money' or from other crypto income such as what Coinbase gives me for watching videos. If I lose that then it is no big deal. I have still managed to get to almost orca status. I can thank Justin Sun for that as the Hive fork allowed me to sell off other tokens to invest in this platform I can believe in. The Blurt fork gives me another option to buy more.

I love that this platform allows me to use my stake to reward others. I know people who have invested serious money and this must be a difficult time for them. Any investment carries risks and crypto is riskier than most. I still believe in the potential of Hive and we have to ride out this slump.

I am suspicious of how ST++M seems to follow the HIVE price so closely when we know the platform has no real development and lost a lot of the community. I guess someone is funding that.
