[Artificial intelligence](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-artificial-intelligence) is changing everything.  At the same [time](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-time), Web3 is going to continue to have a larger impact, especially as the two start to converge.


What we are witnessing is akin to pieces on a chessboard.  Things are being moved around, often in ways that the unskilled eye misses.

# AI Levels The Playing Field


We live in a [world](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-world) where extraction is commonplace.  Many of the entities that are household names became that way by extracting value from others.  This was mostly done through some type of control mechanism that came with size.  


For this reason, [industries](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-industry) sprung up around us that generated billions of dollars in [revenue](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-revenue).  There were protections in place simply due to the fact that entry was difficult.  Basically, it all was permissioned.


Nowhere is this more evident than in the field of content.  For a [century](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-century), [Hollywood](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hollywood-film-industry) was the control mechanism.  Major studios controlled the creation of [films](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-movie-film) and [television shows](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-television-show) along with their distribution.  The [Internet](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-internet) help to offset that somewhere, although the high quality content was still exclusive to those entities.  After all, they had the [money](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-money) to pay for the talent and equipment to generate it.


AI is changing this.


What once required thousands of dollars is now available through generative AI.  Consider the potential of something such as text-to-video.  This alone offers the possibility that anyone with an idea can transform it a [video](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-video).


The [technology](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-technology) is a bit limited at the moment.  However, this is not likely to be the case for long.


## Blockchain And Tokenization Changes Everything


Another piece to the puzzle is what people involved with blockchain understand completely.


Blockchain](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/blockchain), coupled with [tokens](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token), have the ability to alter everything.  Entirely new [incentive](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-incentivize) models are possible.  Ownership rights are being rewritten.  We are essentially looking at something we have not seen since the introduction of the [corporation](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-corporation) a couple hundred years ago.


This means we are going to see new [business models](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business-model), ones that are more aligned with the stakeholders.


From a [cost](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-cost) standpoint, start up are enhanced by the ability to store [data](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-data) in an relatively inexpensive fashion.  The decentralized state of the [databases](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-database) also means the data will be available to contour the AI to whatever outcomes the [company](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-company-business) wants.


Decentralized computing is likely to explode over the next decade.  This is one of the ways we are going to meet the growing needs.


## Extraction From Hollywood


The value of Hollywood is enormous.  


Here we are looking at a traditional industry that still generates massive revenue.  While it is already encountering [disruption](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-disruption), the value these entities [hold](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hold) is still massive.


This is all about to change.


AI is going to place the tools in the hands of millions of people around the world.  What is likely to happen is an exponential increase in output takes place.  When dealing with attention, this is going to result in even greater fragmentation.


Ultimately, I foresee the result being value pulled away from the centralized entities in this industry.  This shift will result in more being pushed into Web3, something that will have the opposite effect.  As the value there grows, we can see the flywheel kicking off.


Of course, this is not limited to just films or [television](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-television) shows.  There are many industries that could face a similar challenge.


The reason why [entertainment](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-entertainment) is prevalent in this discussions is two-fold.  To start, there is already disruption taking place due to the Internet.  [YouTube](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-youtube) is a massive force here.  Secondly, the content is [digital](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-digital).  When the physical component is eliminated, it is much easier to transform.


This is why the financial sector is also at great [risk](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-risk) of disruption.


In the end, Web3 is going to provide the greatest advantage of all: it will allow [content creators](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-content-creator) to have direct relationships with their [audiences](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-audience).  This is something the traditional system did not allow.


Billions of dollars are at stake here.  Hollywood is already feeling the pinch.  It is only going to accelerate as Web3 platforms start to realize the [power](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-power) they wield.


AI is going to be an ally in this.
