Many music producers live the great war debating which sound creation software is better and why **FL Studio** isn't; evidently many of them, have a very comprehensive knowledge about music and sound design, but not all of them know that to measure the efficiency of any kind of software tool, and to compare it with others, it must be done by metrics subject to software engineering rather than to the main functionality that these software have themselves.

**FL Studio** is the best desktop DAW out there to date, not to mention [Arpeggi](https://ecency.com/hive-193816/@theinfiltred/eng-en-esp-arpeggi-the-best); today I'll do a short unboxing of **FL Studio 21** where I'll split this post into two parts so that the reading won't be so long, discussing point by point all its new features. Let's get started!

**1 - WORKFLOW | FLUJO DE TRABAJO**

Okay, it will seem very ordinary to some, but the feature that stands out the most in this new and latest version is the surprisingly minimal consumption of resources at the processing level, among which stands out a much faster loading of the software in the RAM memory and a greater fluidity of work in each of the actions in stock. The DAW is now much lighter and can be easily used on less sophisticated and low-performance PCs.

> Vale, parecerá algo muy ordinario para algunos, pero la característica que más resalta en esta nueva y más reciente versión es el sorprendente mínimo consumo de recursos a nivel de procesamiento, entre los que se destaca una carga mucha más rápida del software en la memoria RAM y una mayor fluidez de trabajo en cada una de las acciones en stock. **2 - NEW PLUGINS | NUEVOS PLUGINS**

The addition of new plug-ins within **FL Studio**, such as **LuxeVerb** (an algorithmic reverb), **Multiband Delay** (an effector that helps you boost your sounds with various delay options for panning, EQ and volume at the same time), **Vintage Phaser** (a tool focused on giving a more electronic touch to your instrumentals) and **VFX Sequencer** (arpeggiator and melody creator that detects chords and controls randomness within the **Patcher** plugin) are likely to be among the most used after its release.

**3 - FOR DEVELOPERS | PARA DESARROLLADORES**

This feature, although not new, is an enhancement for users who are both musicians and developers, which is a great way to create music very easily. Using **Python Scripting**, you don't need to know much about this type of artistic manifestation to create your own songs, but you would need to have a lot of experience in programming, since all this software is based on mathematical functions and codes written in this language. **FL Studio** is not made by musicians, but by system engineers. By controlling this, you control your own creations; now you no longer need to write your code in a txt, you can do it directly here and create music as any music producer would do.

> Esta característica, aunque no es nueva, viene siendo una mejora para los usuarios que son músicos y a la vez desarrolladores, la cual es una pasada para poder crear música muy fácilmente. Usando el **Python Scripting**, no necesitas saber mucho de este tipo de manifestación artística para crear tus propias canciones, pero sí necesitarías tener una basta experiencia en programación, ya que todo este software está basado en funciones matemáticas y códigos escritos en este lenguaje. **FL Studio** no es hecho por músicos, sino por ingenieros en sistemas. Controlando esto, controlas tus creaciones; ahora ya no necesitas escribir tu código en un txt, puedes hacerlo directamente aquí y crear música como lo haría cualquier productor musical.

**4 - THEMES | TEMAS**

Feature that most users liked the most was the availability of both using and creating new themes, where you can see the white skin, the black skin and versions based on **Sytrus** and the **FL Studio** logo.

**5 - ENVELOPES | CURVAS DE NIVEL**

Now you can edit your audio samples directly in the Playlist without having to use the Channel Rack, being able to modify their envelope by adjusting the volume, gain and transients of the samplers you place there, plus a preview of how they, the MIDIs and the presets will look like in the left panel of the software.

> Ahora puedes editar tus muestras de audio directamente en el Playlist sin tener que usar el Channel Rack, pudiendo modificar su envelope (curva de nivel) ajustando el volumen, ganancia y los transitorios de los samplers que allí coloques, además de una previa visualización de cómo se verán tanto éstos como los MIDIs y los presets en el panel izquierdo del software.

**6 - TAGS | ETIQUETAS**

You no longer need to spend minutes, hours, days or use **Everything** to search for that sound you like so much but you never remember its name, you can now mark the sounds you use the most with tags so you never lose sight of them anymore, but still, you can mark them as favorites where you will find them in a panel dedicated just for them. Cool, isn't it?

> Ya no necesitas pasarte minutos, horas, días o usar **Everything** para buscar ese sonido que tanto te gusta pero nunca recuerdas su nombre, ya puedes marcar los sonidos que más usas con etiquetas para no perderlos más nunca de vista, pero aún así, puedes marcarlos como favoritos donde los encontrarás en un panel dedicado sólo para ellos. ¿Cool, no?

**7 - LANGUAGES | IDIOMAS**

If you don't know English, don't you worry child, **FL Studio 21** brings this time a section for language change in which you will find: Spanish, German and Chinese for now; although more will be added later for different cultures.

And we also have a new method of saving projects, where we can include in the saves all the sounds that we have used in it through folders for archiving and identifying your project with metadata which will be automatically attached to your song.

**10 - INTEGRATIONS | INTEGRACIONES**

If you use a previous version of the software, you don't need to uninstall it to update or test it, so you can have all the versions of the software as you like, even so, once installed, **FL Studio** will generate an average of the data of previous versions integrating them in the update 21.0.0.0 avoiding that you have to do it manually (this applies to plugins, presets, configurations and external libraries).

> Si usas una versión anterior a ésta, no necesitas desinstalarla para actualizar o probarla, por lo que podrás tener todas las versiones del software a tu gusto, aún así, una vez instalada, **FL Studio** generará un average de los datos de versiones anteriores integrándolos en el update 21.0.0 evitando que tengas que hacerlos tú manualmente (esto aplica para los plugins, presets, configuraciones y librerías externas).

Although **FL Studio 21** hasn't been officially released, you can get a demo version [here](https://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=291023) that you can try to contribute to its development as a tester by finding bugs that they may not be able to see, I found two already. For unlimited use of this production tool you will need to buy a license as usual, and thus, you would be contributing financially to the implementation of its further development.
