This report provides a summary of what the Steemit dev team has been up to in the GitHub code repository. The changes that are in this report are things that are being discussed and considered, as well as being worked on. **There is no guarantee that any of these will actually be implemented and put up on to the site.** It does give you a good idea of what they are up to though :)

## Image Uploads

It looks like we might have image uploads directly into Steemit.com soon! 

<a href="https://github.com/steemit/steemit.com/issues/396">GitHub issue 396</a> adds the ability for users to upload images directly into the posting interface, instead of having to use a third-party image hosting site. The upload should be very user-friendly as well. Simply copy the image into the clipboard and "paste" it into the editor to upload it! 

While there is no guarantee that it will make it up onto the live site, a pull-request has already been submitted - so it is fairly likely that we will see it live on the site soon.

## Do not show how many downvotes a post has received

With the current implementation of "flags" and "downvotes" being combined into the same function, users receiving "downvotes" for non-abusive reasons (such as disagreement on rewards) has been causing a lot of controversy. Part of the reason is because the interface shows the post as 'flagged' whenever it receives a downvote, which makes the post seem 'bad' compared to non-flagged posts, even if the poster did nothing 'wrong'.

<a href="https://github.com/steemit/steemit.com/pull/1039">GitHub pull request 1039</a> will update the UI to no longer show how many downvotes a post/comment has received. Downvoted posts/comments will no longer stand out compared to 'regular' (non-downvoted) posts/comments unless they become hidden due to a negative voting score.

## Show author's userpic below the title on post page

<a href="https://github.com/steemit/steemit.com/issues/1050">GitHub issue 1050</a> will update the post page to show the authors userpic below the post title, as shown below.

## Miscellaneous Bugfixes

A lot of the issues that are being worked on right now are bugfixes. I did decide to exclude them, since I think most users are just interested in seeing the enhancements.

This concludes the list of relevant issues that I found to report on. There is a lot of design work going on behind the scenes related to new features, but they haven't been added to GitHub yet. Once I see them create issues for things that are being discussed/planned, I will add them to the report.

Also, since apparently there has been some confusion based on the nature of my posts, I wanted to clarify - I do not work for Steemit. I am just a member of the community who is reviewing the activity and posting what I see.
