### [Some days ago I talked about how I traveled to a famous location in the Austrian Alps](https://steempeak.com/photography/@tobetada/heidi-in-the-alps). Today there is a follow up of my journey. The breathtaking scenery and nature of the alps is amazing for hiking and other outdoor activities. There are a lot of paths to walk on and there are many places which are well suited for day trips making these areas accessible to newcomers as well.  There is very interesting geological formation here: I believe it is lime or sand stone which has been eroding for thousands of years. These interesting shapes seem to have been created by rocks of harder composition which withstood the erosion and "protected" the underlying softer rock. This is why on the top you can see stones which seem to pose quite a puzzle if one does not know about the process of erosion (this is interpretation, but I believe it to be accurate).  This place was located on a plateau which gives a very good overview of the surrounding mountains and valleys. There are even small villages here which would make for a very interesting but probably also more inconvenient life. There are always trade-offs when living in beautiful places such as this!  And finally a close up of the mountain seen in the picture above.
