**What i like to do the most**

Today i will talk a little bit about my favorite hobby ever, **painting**.

First of all i would like to emphasize that painting consists of paint with paint, can be with brushes, spatula, sponge or any utensil... that although it may seem silly or redundant, but people confuse it a lot with **drawing**, which consists of drawing with colored pencils, markers, graphite pencils, among others. 

Now, since i was very young i have had a afiction with **painting**, don't ask me why... because i was very small, but i know that i insisted a lot to my parents to sign me up for classes. Obviously in order to paint, i had to go through certain levels of drawing, in order to fall into the painting level.

Nowadays, i can paint with oil (which is my favorite), with acrylic, watercolors, indian ink and temperas. Normally, not to say always, i like to paint to **nature**,  landscapes, details, animals, etc. Portraits and i are not friends.

The image you see above is my favorite painting, which i named **¨Equilibrio medido¨** (measured balance), oil painting, is my favorite work so far, it measures 40x30 inches. And the interesting thing about this work of art is that the composition was imaginary, i explain myself... i didn't directly replicate an image, but i took the objects i wanted and placed them as i wanted. The challenge was that each reference of each object had a different light and therefore shadows, so I had to couple them and give them all the same focus.

**Lo que más me gusta hacer**

El día de hoy les hablaré un poco sobre mi pasatiempo preferido de siempre, **la pintura**.

Primero que nada me interesa destacar que la pintura consiste en pintar con pintura, sea con pinceles, espátula, esponja o cualquier utensilio... que aunque parezca tonto o redundante la gente la confunde mucho con el **dibujo**, que consiste en dibujar con lapices de colores, marcadores, lápices de grafito, entre otros. 

Ahora bien desde muy pequeña he tenido una afición con la **pintura**, no me pregunten por qué... porque era muy pequeña, pero sé que le insistí mucho a mis padres para que me inscribieran en clases. Obviamente para poder pintar, tuve que pasar por ciertos niveles de dibujo, para poder caer dentro del nivel de pintura.

En la actualidad puedo pintar con óleo (que es mi preferido), con acrílico, acuarelas, tinta china y temperas. Normalmente, para no decir siempre, me gusta pintar a la **naturaleza**, sean paisajes, detalles, animales, etc. Los retratos y yo no somos amigos.

La imagen que ven arriba es mi cuadro favorito, el cual nombre **¨Equilibrio medido¨**, pintura a óleo, es mi obra favorita hasta ahora, mide 40x30 pulgadas. Y lo interesante de esta obra de arte es que la composición fué imaginaria, me explico... no repliqué directamente una imagen, si no que tome los objetos que quería y los coloqué a mi antojo. El reto fué que cada referencia de cada objeto tenía una luz y por lo tanto sombras diferentes, así que tuve que acoplarlas y darles un mismo foco a todas.

This is another oil painting, because as i mentioned before, it is my favorite because it generates much more real and grounded colors. The painting technique makes it more durable and realistic... **¨Belleza en lo simple¨** (Beauty in the simple) is a replica of a photograph i took, in a size of 24x21 inches, this symbolizes that we can find beauty in the simplest things, and maybe in the things we see every day... like a simple butterfly in a flower.

Esta es otra obra a óleo, porque como mencioné anteriormente, es mi preferida porque genera colores mucho más reales y mas aterrizados. La técnica de pintura hace que sea mas duradera y realista... **¨Belleza en lo simple¨** es una réplica de una fotografía que tomé, en un tamaño de 24x21 pulgadas, esta simboliza que podemos encontrar la belleza en las cosas mas simples, y tal vez en las cosas que vemos todos los días... como una simple mariposa en una flor.

**¨Rounded house¨** is a replica of a photograph, with the technique of **watercolor**, size 11x17 inches, it consists of playing with the lights, making spots one on top of the other... but opposite to how normally is done in oil and acrylic, first start with the light tones, and is given depth layer by layer... because if we start with the strong colors and want to erase something, we can not recover the white because its beauty is that our lighter shade of white is the same paper. As its name says, it is a water-based technique and it is a very important part in its development.

**¨Rounded house¨** (Casa redondeada) es una réplica de una fotografía, con la técnica de **acuarela**, tamaño de 11x17 pulgadas, la misma consiste en jugar con las claridades, haciendo manchas una encima de la otra... pero opuesta a como normalmente se hace en óleo y acrílico, primero se inician con los tonos claros, y se le va dando profundidad capa por capa... porque si iniciamos con los colores fuertes y queremos borrar algo, ya no podremos recuperar el blanco porque su belleza está en que nuestro tono más claro de blanco es el mismo papel. Como su nombre lo dice es una técnica en base de agua y la misma forma parte muy importante en su desarrollo.

**¨Complementary sofa¨** (Sof[a complementario) is a work in acrylic, this time on a sheet 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, which basically was for one of my designs, at that time I didn't need a big size. The interesting thing about this one is how the complementary colors, turquoise blue and mustard yellow, look pretty good together... a perfect example of how balanced the complementary colors look.

I don't like **acrylic** as much as oil, because as you can see, the colors are more plastic, they don't look so real, and the paint gives it an incredible and sometimes uncomfortable shine. But I feel comfortable in any of the techniques.

**¨Complementary sofa¨** es una obra en acrílico, en esta ocasión en una hoja 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 pulgadas, que básicamente era para uno de mis diseños, en ese entonces no necesitaba un gran tamaño. Lo interesante de este es como los colores complementarios, el azul turquesa y el amarillo mostaza, se ven bastante bien juntos... un ejemplo perfecto de lo equilibrado que se ven los colores complementarios.

El **acrílico** no me gusta tanto como el óleo, porque como pueden ver, los colores son más plásticos, no se ven tan reales, y la pintura le genera un brillo increíble y a veces incomodo. Pero me siento cómoda en cualquiera de las técnicas.
