<i>Yesterday, finally the rain returned. It was ever so light at first. Just a few drops here and there, but enough to make my heart sing.</i> 

It has been so dry here, everywhere the ground is so dry and compact. Unless you have your own water source, it's really hard to keep the land watered.

The rain was accompanied by some thunder and lightening. I love a good thunderstorm. It certainly puts us in our place, when we get to experience the pure force of nature. It also feels like home to me, more so, that the sounds you hear in built up areas.

<i>I like to greet thunder, like an old friend, not holding back, in expressing my joy when they arrive.</i> 

Drops of water fell and yet the heat remained oppressive. With a warm Sahara breeze blowing, it was really hard to find any escape from it. With the rain, bringing just a few moments of relief, here and there. 

The day felt heavy and with that heaviness, my energy dropped, my body requesting that I spend most of my time resting. So I listened and besides some time away doing chores, I could only rest, until night fell and I finally got some relief from the heat. 

But early morning, it had returned and I found it hard to get myself up and motivated. I somehow managed to fall back asleep though and before I knew it,  I awoke just before 11 a.m. Something that rarely happens.  

You know what it's like, when you sleep too much. Well I know how it is,  for me, it takes me ages to fully wake up and I spend the next few hours trying to shake off my zombie like state. 

Usually I would have the bath full of cold water, so that I could just immerse myself and then step out of it reborn nice and fresh, ready to face the day. But I have not done that, the last few days, so there was no helping hand for me today.

Me and the girls spend what was left of the morning inside the truck, drawing, reading and chatting. Until a very dear friend of mine, came to visit and took us out to the river. 

Where the water was cold, so deliciously cold. It felt sooo good to immerse my whole body into it's revitalising waters. So good!
I felt like I could finally breathe again.

We stayed there for a couple of hours, playing, swimming and eating. It felt so good to be able to cool down. There was even a small rainfall whilst we were there, I love watching raindrops hitting a body of water, there is something so calming and relaxing about it. 

Then this evening, as I was preparing dinner, the rain began to fall again. Softly at first and it has not stopped since. With big drops falling now.

 <b>Outside everything is wet, including me and my girls, as we venture out at different intervals, to enjoy this wonderful gift of water. To take in the wonderful smell of wet earth and the sigh of mother nature, as her thirst is finally quenched. </b>
