<center><h3>𝕃𝔸 𝔻𝕀Á𝔽𝔸ℕ𝔸 ℙ𝔼ℕ𝔸</h3></center>

Vi su caballera blanca al fondo del pasillo. Ella caminaba a pasos rápidos dirigiéndose a la sala. Yo la seguí hasta donde mi corazón me lo permitió, pues la ansiedad y la curiosidad chocaban en discordia en las puertas de mi pecho. El cuarto era iluminado por una luz tenue y amarilla, el vestido que llevaba aquel espíritu perteneció a una época remota, donde las damas fácilmente morían por la pena, al enterarse de que sus maridos fenecían en la guerra.

Hace años, alquilé una casa por razones laborales en «La Cumbre Celeste», un pueblo que quedaba a unos kilómetros de una hermosa laguna; de ahí proviene su nombre. Los lugareños aseguraban que cuando el alba ascendía, la laguna adquiría un color cristalino y puro como el cielo, y se decía, según los creyentes, que de allí brotaban y bailaban hadas acuáticas. 

Nunca tuve la dicha de quedarme a vislumbrar ese depósito de agua, pues solo me quedé pocos días, pero me gustaban las historias. Desde las más fantásticas hasta las más perturbadoras, y estas últimas, revelaron que tal belleza natural escondía un hecho espeluznante.

La laguna fue el motivo de muerte de muchas personas, pues al no aguantar los males que los azotaban, se lanzaron a las aguas. En el pasado hubo una mujer, con los cabellos tan negros como la oscuridad, de piel blanca y reluciente como la luna y los labios finos y rojos como líneas escarlatas.

Ella vivió en esa casa, la que alquilé para vivir algunos días, y por desgracia, su alma jamás abandonó aquel lugar, pues su espíritu nunca olvidó el dolor que no la dejaba separarse de este mundo. Yo tuve el horror y la pena de encontrármela una noche, me desperté agitado al escuchar un lamento. Divisé la puerta de mi habitación y una luz sobresalía, me entregué a la curiosidad aunque el miedo ya me advertía que no fuera, pero en un parpadeo ya estaba en el pasillo.

No dejé que la oscuridad me tomara pues seguí la luz en todo momento. El vestido blanco del fantasma se ondeaba con rapidez, levitando a pasos veloces que con ansiedad ejecutaba su portadora. Hubo un momento en que se perdió en un closet y fue donde la luz se disolvió. Al abrirlo, encontré un uniforme de soldado y varias fotografías viejas, parecían reliquias por la manera en que estaban conservadas.

Investigué sobre su historia hasta que encontré algo impactante. El espíritu de aquella casa, en vida se llamaba Érica, y fue la esposa de un soldado. Ambos, marido y mujer, se separaron cuando estalló la guerra, y él nunca volvió. Devastada por una oscura depresión, Érica se lanzó a la laguna, como era la costumbre de aquellos que ya no deseaban la vida. Pero su espíritu aun quedó atrapado en la tierra de los vivos y ahora pena por la muerte de su marido. 

No supe nada después de lo sucedido, solo me fui y el fantasma de Érica sigue lamentándose su desgracia. Solo espero que algún día sus brazos asciendan y encuentren la paz que siempre anhelaron.

I saw her white rider at the end of the hallway. She was walking with quick steps towards the living room. I followed her as far as my heart would allow, for anxiety and curiosity clashed in discord at the gates of my breast. The room was illuminated by a dim, yellow light, the dress that spirit wore belonged to a remote era, where ladies easily died of grief, when they learned that their husbands perished in war.

Years ago, I rented a house for work purposes in "La Cumbre Celeste", a village a few kilometers away from a beautiful lagoon; that's where the name comes from. The locals used to say that when the dawn rose, the lagoon acquired a crystalline and pure color like the sky, and it was said, according to the believers, that water fairies sprouted and danced from there. 

I never had the joy of staying to glimpse that water reservoir, as I only stayed a few days, but I liked the stories. From the most fantastic to the most disturbing, and the latter revealed that such natural beauty hid a horrifying fact.

The lagoon was the reason for the death of many people, because they could not stand the evils that plagued them, they threw themselves into the waters. In the past there was a woman, with hair as black as darkness, skin as white and shining as the moon, and lips as thin and red as scarlet lines.

She lived in that house, the one I rented to live in for a few days, and unfortunately, her soul never left that place, for her spirit never forgot the pain that would not let her part from this world. I had the horror and sorrow of finding her one night, I woke up agitated when I heard a wail. I spotted the door to my room and a light was shining, I gave in to curiosity even though fear was already warning me not to go, but in the blink of an eye I was already in the hallway.

I didn't let the darkness take me as I followed the light at all times. The ghost's white dress billowed swiftly, levitating in swift steps anxiously executed by its wearer. There was a moment when it was lost in a closet and that was where the light dissolved. When I opened it, I found a soldier's uniform and several old photographs, they looked like relics because of the way they were preserved.

I researched their history until I found something shocking. The spirit of that house, in life was called Erica, and she was the wife of a soldier. Both husband and wife separated when the war broke out, and he never returned. Devastated by a dark depression, Erica threw herself into the lagoon, as was the custom of those who no longer desired life. But her spirit was still trapped in the land of the living and now grieved for the death of her husband. 

I heard nothing after what happened, I just left and the ghost of Erica continues to mourn her misfortune. I only hope that someday her arms will ascend and she will find the peace she always longed for.
