It is with great pleasure that I am joining today the contest [A Toast to Water](https://peakd.com/hive-189869/@amazingdrinks/amazing-drinks-contest-a-toast), on the occasion of the celebration of **World Water Day** on March 22nd. 

I thank in advance all the collaborators and sponsors who have made possible this motivating activity that is not only enjoyable, but also makes us reflect, if we have not already done so, about the importance of taking care of the vital liquid and valuing every drop. 

We know that water is essential for life, in fact, we are composed of water in more than 50% of our body, it is said that about 70%. 

Those of us who have the privilege of receiving water in our homes on a regular basis are very fortunate since the problem of the vital liquid worldwide is alarming and regrettable.

>Sabemos que el agua es esencial para la vida, de hecho, estamos compuestos por agua en más del 50% de nuestro cuerpo, se dice que cerca de un 70%. 
>
>Quienes tenemos el privilegio de recibir agua en nuestras casas de forma regular somos muy afortunados ya que la problemática del vital líquido a nivel mundial es alarmante y lamentable.

In my case, I get water directly from the pipes 3 days a week, usually on Monday through Wednesday and those days I take the opportunity to wash clothes, clean the house thoroughly and collect water for the rest of the week. 

Since I currently do not have a tank to store water, I store it in pipes and buy filtered water to drink, a 5 liter bottle costs me $0.2, a very affordable price. In my area there are several water dispensers nearby that sell pre-purified water, many people come daily to buy it.

Not in all homes in my community the water arrives regularly because many times the pipes break and that kind of thing, so it is common that the vast majority have water tanks to take advantage of filling them on the days it arrives and it is also common to use water pumps for the less accessible corners and you also see many people carrying water jugs.

However, it also happens that many times in some corners of the same area the water is wasted because it is spilled and some people do not seem to care, which also brings a lot of indignation, annoyance and disputes. 

I believe that, at least in the case of my community, if we avoided these spills and gave the proper use to every drop of water we could have a more efficient supply of the vital liquid. 

I agree with the use of tanks and pipes to store water, as well as taking advantage of the propellant pumps so that no one is left without water and sharing whenever possible, as it is well said "water is not denied to anyone".

>En mi caso, recibo agua directamente de las tuberías 3 días a la semana, generalmente el día lunes hasta el miércoles y esos días aprovecho de lavar la ropa, limpiar la casa a fondo y recolectar agua para el resto de la semana. 
>
>Debido a que actualmente no tengo tanque para almacenar agua, lo hago en pipotes y compro agua filtrada para beber, una botella de 5 Litros me cuesta $0,2, un precio bastante asequible. En mi zona existen muy cerca varios dispensadores de agua que la venden previamente purificada, muchas personas acuden diariamente a comprar.

>No en todos los hogares de mi comunidad el agua llega regularmente porque muchas veces se rompen las tuberías y ese tipo de cosas, así que es común que la gran mayoría tenga tanques de agua para aprovechar de llenarlos los días que llega y también es común el uso de bombas de propulsión de agua para los rincones menos accesibles y también se ve mucha gente cargando tobos de agua.
>
>Sin embargo, también sucede que muchas veces en algunos rincones de la misma zona el agua de desperdicia porque se derrama y a algunos parece no interesarle, lo que trae también mucha indignación, molestias y disputas. 
>
>Creo que, al menos en el caso de mi comunidad, si evitáramos estos derrames y le diéramos el uso adecuado a cada gota de agua pudiésemos tener un abastecimiento más eficiente del vital líquido. 
>
>Estoy de acuerdo en el uso de tanques y pipotes para almacenar agua, así como también aprovechar las bombas propulsoras para que nadie se quede sin agua y compartir siempre que sea posible, como bien se dice ❝el agua no se le niega a nadie❞.

Now, we know that drinking enough water daily is essential for health and consuming part of the liquid we need in other beverages is the favorite way for many, so today I come to share with you a delicious drink, very satiating and a little sweet to fill us with flavor while we hydrate. 

>Ahora bien, sabemos que beber suficiente agua diariamente es esencial para la salud y consumir parte del líquido que requerimos en otras bebidas es la manera favorita de muchos, así que hoy vengo a compartirles una bebida deliciosa, muy saciante y un poco dulce para llenarnos de sabor mientras nos hidratamos.

It is prepared with bananas and pumpkin and served in an attractive way. I wanted to make something different for myself, I had never tried sweet pumpkin smoothie so it seemed like the right time and the truth is I have been totally pleased. 🤤

>Está preparada a base de bananas y calabaza y servida de manera atractiva. Quise hacer algo distinto para mí, nunca había probado batido dulce de calabaza así que me pareció el momento oportuno y la verdad he quedado totalmente complacida. 🤤

# Let's go then to the recipe 😉.

# Ingredients I used for 1/2 liter:

- 3 semi-frozen bananas.
- 1 small piece of boiled pumpkin. Approx. 3/4 cup chopped.
- 5 tablespoons of powdered milk.
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla. 
- 5 teaspoons sugar.
- 2 cups of filtered water, very cold. 

># Ingredientes que usé para 1/2 Litro:
>
>- 3 Bananas semi-congeladas.
>- 1 Trozo pequeño de calabaza hervida. Aprox.  3/4 de taza picada.
>- 5 Cucharadas de leche en polvo.
>- 1/2 Cucharadita de canela en polvo.
>- 1 Cucharadita de vainilla. 
>- 5 Cucharaditas de azúcar.
>- 2 tazas de agua filtrada, muy fría.

# Preparation:

I prepared each smoothie separately so that I could serve it in a special and attractive way. 

First I prepared the pumpkin one by blending it with the same cooking water, 2 tablespoons of milk, the vanilla and 2 teaspoons of sugar. 

It was about one cup of water, which can be from the pumpkin cooking or not and this amount is already part of the amount indicated in the ingredients. 

Set aside.

># Preparación:

>Preparé cada batido aparte para poder servirlo de manera especial y atractiva. 
>
>Primero preparé el de calabaza licuándola con la misma agua de cocción, 2 cucharadas de leche, la vainilla y 2 cucharaditas de azúcar. 
>
>Fue como una taza de agua, la cual puede ser de la cocción de la calabaza o no y esta cantidad ya forma parte de la indicada en los ingredientes. 
>
>Se reserva.

To prepare the banana one, I blended a cup of cold water with 3 tablespoons of milk, the cinnamon and 2 teaspoons of sugar. When it was all integrated, I added the banana and let it blend until it became creamy.

>Para preparar el de banana licué una taza de agua fría con 3 cucharadas de leche, la canela y 2 cucharaditas de azúcar. Cuando estaba todo integrado agregué la banana y dejé licuar hasta que se tornó de consistencia cremosa.

I first poured the pumpkin smoothie up to about half of the glasses. Then, I gently added the banana milkshake. 

>Serví primero el de calabaza hasta más o menos la mitad de las copas. Luego, agregué con suavidad el batido de banana.

Delicious... As you can see, first you enjoy the banana part which I think most people like, the cinnamon gives it a special touch. Drinking it I felt like I was in a soda fountain that offered me a somewhat novel drink, only this time I was the hostess and also the customer.

The pumpkin part is as or more delicious than the banana part, I really don't know which one to choose, both have their charm. When I drank it I remembered how as a child I used to sneakily eat the pumpkin mix that my mother prepared for the cake, of course this one is much lighter and yes it is a smoothie prepared especially for drinking, not like the cake mix that until it is not baked it is just a goo. 🤭

>Deliciosa... Como pueden ver, primero se disfruta la parte de banana que creo que le gusta a la mayoría de personas, la canela le da un toque especial. Al beberla me sentí como en una fuente de soda que me ofreció una bebida un poco novedosa, solo que está vez yo fui la anfitriona y también la cliente.
>
>La parte de calabaza es tanto o más deliciosa que la de banana, la verdad no sé por cual decidirme, ambas tienen su encanto. Al beberla recordé como cuando niña a escondidas me comía la mezcla de calabaza que mi madre preparaba para la torta, claro que esta es mucho mas ligera y sí es un batido preparado especialmente para beber, no como la mezcla de tortas que hasta que no se horneé es solo un pegote. 🤭
