Hello here. Hope that everything is going well and the fast shutters of your beloved cameras click without misfires. Same here - I always have two cameras with me - one is a small digital point and shoot for every day "snaps" but acceptable also for every other kind of photography I'm doing with - documentary at different events, band photography during the low light situation, night photography and portraits. I'm talking about the Ricoh GRii pocket monster camera (that's what I call her). And another - one of my analog (film) cameras. It can be very similar to the young sister Ricoh GR1s - same in size and a look, very fast and immediately ready for taking pictures, action shooter.  I took this image during my trip to Barcelona with this tiny Ricoh GR1s loaded with Fuji Velvia 100 expired in 2004 film. Yes, I can agree - the image is too far from any PERFECTION rules like super sharp focus, super distinct details, and not clean enough like the images of this place and possible of the same moment taken with the modern 30-50 megabyte cameras armed with over sensitive sensors and heavy fast lenses. Actually, our smartphones are very close to these characteristics today, just their lenses are not heavy. But is it really this perfection is the goal of our photo technology rice competition? Sometimes, instead of this small film P&S in my bag also possible to find the bigger and louder medium format Fuji GA645 that is using a different format and the size of the celluloid - film 120 that it divides to 16 parts - 16 frames.  This image I took in Munchen with Guji GA645 on Bergger Pancro 400 film and developed at home. Sure less suitable for the impatient photographers wanting to shoot and to upload immediately to their Fakebooks and Instagrams timelines - most of the modern cameras are coming with Bluetooth and connecting easily to the smartphones - we are (or some of us) are the victims of technology and also of the need to update their stories with the goal to show something to somebody - well can't explain these need - not my competence, I'm not a psychologist :-) It can be very old and made like a tank Canon P from the year 1960 camera. It's a new me camera that I purchased on eBay just a month two ago. I searched it as the body only, with the goal to find some specific lens separate from the camera. Right now I have already two lens - both made in CCCP in 1974 and 1976 - Jupiter-8 and 12 (50mm and 35mm). I found them here in my country by the occasion one after the other for very nice prices - only $30 and $60.  This image of TelAviv from the flor 44 I took one week ago during the test I photographed on Kodak Tnax400 and developed at home in the Kodak d-76 developer. As you can see - this camera is 61 years old Grandmother that is still making very nice work. Today I started reading the book "MINIMALISM" Live a Meaningful Life that is suitable with my thoughts about my life and the way of my doing. Somehow Analog photography is some kind of way of minimalism - ***shot film, not megapixels*** is a very popular phrase in the #believeinfilm community on Twitter. So here I am! It has to be said that there is a certain nostalgic charm about shooting film. For me film is a bridge to the past that I can still enjoy today. I actually really like the tactility of shooting film and the process involved. The images I get back are the icing on the cake, imperfections and all! This is a great post. Thank you for sharing your results and perspective. I agree, is perfection always the goal in photography. Maybe it's just me but I don't think I've ever achieved perfection. Maybe realized the vision, but perfection is really meeting expectation 100%. A very hard thing to do. !BEER for you cheers!
