War seit langem wieder einmal bei einem griechischen Restaurant an der Donauinsel in Wien und dabei sind mir drei Tricks aufgefallen, wie die Preise erhöht worden sind.

## #1 Preise werden aufgerundet

Das ist der offensichtlichste Trick. Aus 4 Euro 50 werden plötzlich 4 Euro 90. Das klingt auf den ersten Blick nicht viel, ist aber dann doch eine 9%-tige Preiserhöhung.

## #2 Gleicher Preis, kleinere Portion

Nächster Trick, der auch in Supermärkten zum Einstz kommt, ist, dass zwar der Preis gleich bleibt, aber die Portion verkleinert wird.

Diese Baklava kostet 4,90 ist aber nur noch halb so groß wie letztes Jahr.

## #3 Gleicher Preis, andere Qualität

Ein weiterer Trick, der leider oft nicht so einfach bemerkt wird, ist, dass zwar der Preis gleich bleibt, das Restaurant aber auf billigere Lieferanten / Produkte minderer Qualität umstellt.

Statt hausgemachter Baklava wird diese jetzt extern geliefert oder das Gyros ist nicht mehr so gut wie letztes Jahr.

Was for a long time once again at a Greek restaurant on the Danube Island in Vienna and I noticed three tricks, how the prices have been increased.

## #1 Prices are rounded up

This is the most obvious trick. 4 Euro 50 suddenly becomes 4 Euro 90. That doesn't sound much at first glance, but then again, it's is a 9% price increase.

## #2 Same price, smaller size

The next trick, which is also used in supermarkets, is that the price remains the same, but the size of the dish is reduced.

This baklava costs 4.90 but is only half the size it was last year.

## #3 Same price, different quality

Another trick, which unfortunately is often not easily noticed, is that although the price remains the same, the restaurant switches to cheaper suppliers / lower quality products.

Instead of homemade baklava, it is now supplied externally or the gyros was of lower quality than last year.
