Corona-Shutdown Tag 6 in Österreich: schon 1000 bestätigte Fälle in Österreich, Ausgangsbeschränkungen, EU schließt die Außengrenze, mögliches Post-Shutdown-Szenario

Die Geburtenrate wird in Österreich steigen 😂 (lol, vielleicht auch die Scheidungsrate und schwarzer Humor die Sterberate)

Ok, Spaß beiseite. Kann seit ein paar Tagen nicht mehr so gut schlafen, aber es geht mir sonst wieder gut, keine Panik, nur gestern wegen den "Ausgangsbeschränkungen", aber im Moment sind die Ausnahmen noch im grünen und vernünftigen Bereich.

War heute das erste Mal unter der Ausgangssperre Lebensmittel einkaufen, Stadt wie ausgestorben und es halten sich zumindest die meisten an die Maßnahmen, Sozial-Kontakte auf das "absolute Minimum" einzuschränken.

Witzig, dass Sozial-Kontakte einschränken, einmal sogar Menschenleben retten kann. Das finde ich gerade cool.

Frage mich, was nach dem Shutdown passieren wird. Schaut euch die [Computer-Outbreak-Simulationen](https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/) der Washington Post an.

Virus ist wahrscheinlich nicht saisonal und geht durch Temperaturen nicht zurück, da neue Generation von Virus.

Computer-Simulation ist stark vereinfachend, RL ist komplexer, Virus wird nicht aussterben, Zeitkomponente der Simulation ist spannende Frage.

Realistisch sehe ich den Virus auf natürlichem Weg durch Herdenimmunität (60-70% angesteckt, wieder geheilt und dann immunisiert, über einen längeren Zeittraum durch Social Distancing vlt in 1-2 Jahre zu erreichen ohne das Gesundheitssystem zu überlasten) oder präferierte Variante mit einem Impfstoff zu besiegen. Fraglich ist, ob die Immunität auf natürliche Weise eintritt und wie lange sie hält. Ebenso wie schnell es die Forschung schafft, einen Impfstoff zu finden und zu testen. Aber das hat höchste Priorität in der Med-Forschung derzeit.

Man kann aber die Wirtschaft nicht über Jahre völlig herunterfahren, das ist unmöglich, daher sieht ein wahrscheinlicheres Post-Shutdown-Szenario wie folgt aus an Hand der Erfahrungen aus China.

Shutdown dauert vielleicht 1-3 Monate, je nachdem wie schnell und effektiv wir jetzt reagieren. In 1-2 Monaten geht in der ganzen EU die Infektionsrate praktisch auf 0 zurück. Grenzen werden komplett geschlossen, nur noch mit 14-tägiger Quarantäne Eintritt möglich, auch lange Zeit danach.

Nach dem Shutdown ein sehr langsames, mühsames und behutsames Hochfahren der Wirtschaft unter enormen Gesundheits- und Isolationsvorkehrungen. Das probiert gerade China, da es ansonsten gleich wieder zu einem Outbreak kommen könnte.

Herdenimmunität ist in China nicht erreicht, aber es wird vielleicht wieder möglich einzelne Herde lokal abzugrenzen mit drastischen Gesundheits- und lokalen Isolationsmaßnahmen, die Situation unter Kontrolle zu halten und die Wirtschaft hochzufahren.

Bleibt zu hoffen, dass es bald einen medizinischen Durchbruch gibt und so schnell wie möglich ein Impfstoff gefunden und entwickelt wird. Damit könnten wir den Virus dann endgültig besiegen, das ist die gute Nachricht, oder nach 1-2 Jahren, wenn Herdenimmunität eintritt, vorausgesetzt man bleibt immunisiert.

Was sagt ihr zu dieser Hypothese? Langsames Hochfahren der Wirtschaft und lokale Abgrenzung nach dem Shutdown, sehe ich derzeit als das wahrscheinlichste Post-Shutdown-Szenario.

Corona shutdown day 6 in Austria: already 1000 confirmed cases in Austria, curfew, EU closes border, possible post-shutdown scenario

The birth rate will rise in Austria 😂 (lol, maybe also the divorce rate and black humor the death rate as well)

Okay, all kidding aside. Can't sleep well since a few days, but I'm feeling fine otherwise, not panicking, just yesterday because of the "curfew", but for now the exceptions are still reasonable and ok.

Today I was grocery shopping for the first time after the curfew, surreal, city like extinct and at least most of the people stick to the measures to limit social contacts to the "absolute minimum".

Funny that limiting social contacts can save lives. Cool, isn't it?

I am still wondering what will happen after the shutdown. Take a look at the Washington Post's [computer outbreak simulations](https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/).

Virus is probably non-seasonal and does not go down due to temperatures, as it's a new generation of virus.

Computer simulation is simplifying of course, RL is more complex, virus will not die out, time component of the simulation is exciting question.

Realistically I see the virus being defeated either naturally through herd immunity (60-70% infected, healed and then immunized, over a longer period of time through social distancing to reach in maybe 1-2 years without overburdening the health care system) or more preferable with a vaccine. It is still debated whether immunity really occurs naturally and how long it lasts and how fast researchers will find and test a possible vaccine. But finding a vaccine is the highest priority in medical research at the moment.

But we can't shut down the economy completely for years to come, this is impossible, so a possible post-shutdown scenario looks like this, based on the experience from China.

Shutdown 1-3 months, depending on how quickly and effectively we react now. In 1-2 months, the infection rate across the EU will be practically zero. Borders will be completely closed, entry only possible with a 14-day quarantine, even long after the shutdown is lifted.

After the shutdown, a very slow, tedious and careful restart of the economy under enormous health and isolation precautions. This is what China is currently trying to do, otherwise there could be another outbreak right away.

Herd immunity has not been reached in China, but it may be possible to isolate individual herds locally again with drastic health and local isolation measures to keep the situation under control.

Hopefully there will be a medical breakthrough soon and a vaccine found and tested as soon as possible. This could be the good news, or after 1-2 years, when we reach herd immunity, provided one remains immunized, the new coronavirus will be defeated.

What do you think about this hypothesis? Slow economic recovery and boot up and local isolation of the virus for months to come until we either find a vaccine or reach herd immunity. I currently see this as the most likely possible post-shutdown scenario.
