EU elections: Pro EU parties are avoiding the term EU, here is what term they use instead and how to decode their messages. (Photo gallery)

Pro-EU-Parteien in Österreich meiden das Wort EU in den Mund zu nehmen, wie der Teufel das Weihwasser 😂

Stattdessen verwenden sie andauernd das Wort "Europa" und als Adjektiv "europäisch" (pro-europäisch statt pro-EU) als Ersatz für die EU, obwohl Europa eigentlich eine geografische Bezeichnung ist und zum Beispiel den Westen Russlands und das Vereinigte Königreich (UK) inkludiert. Beides nicht Teil der EU.

Wenn man also einer Aussage über Europa begegnet, muss man lediglich das Wort Europa durch EU ersetzen. Dann machen die Plakate plötzlich viel mehr Sinn.

Zum Beispiel "Europa stärken" bedeutet in Wirklichkeit "Die EU stärken". Ein kleiner aber wichtiger semantischer Unterschied.

Und genaugenommen ist es auch keine Europa-Wahl sondern eine EU-Parlaments-Wahl.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Ist das schon zu pingelig oder notwendig auf den Unterschied hinzuweisen? Warum meiden EU-Befürworter das Wort EU zu verwenden?

Pro-EU parties in Austria avoid using the word EU like the devil avoids holy water 😂

Instead, they constantly use the word “Europe” and the adjective “European” (pro-European instead of pro-EU) as a substitute for EU, although Europe is actually a geographical term and includes, for example, the west of Russia and the United Kingdom (UK). Both are not part of the EU.

So if you come across a statement about Europe, all you have to do is replace the word Europe with EU. Then the ad campaigns suddenly make a lot more sense.

For example, “Strengthen Europe” actually means “Strengthen the EU”. A small but important semantic difference.

And strictly speaking, it is not a European election but an EU Parliament election.

What do you think? Is it too picky or necessary to point out the difference? Why do EU supporters avoid using the word EU?

Das ist ja nun beileibe nichts neues. Da wird wohl seit jeher dem feuchten, aber unerfüllbaren Traum der Super-Meta-Etatisten Ausdruck verliehen, dass die EU ganz Europa umfasst (wobei es sich in die Gegenrichtung entwickelt hat). Es sind übrigens 21 (!) europäische Länder **nicht** in der EU (davon 3, die nur teilweise in Europa liegen). Auch interessant: Die EU umfasst gerade mal 39 % der Fläche und 60 % der Einwohner Europas!

Auch Sebastian Kurz sagte 2020, dass er sich ein Überwachungssystem wie in China wünscht. Dieses eigentliche Ziel, welches da eigentlich geplant und vorbereitet wurde, ging im Strudel der einzelnen "Maßnahmen" unter. 
"Maßnahmen", auch ein Euphemismus für "Terrorakte gegen das Volk". Sie sollten uns ein großes Stück dem von Kurz schamlos genannten Ziel näher bringen.

😂😂It's funny how they switch "EU" with "Europe" in ads. But "Strengthen Europe" really means "Strengthen the EU." Makes you think a lot about this... Well in my opinion, it seems they avoid "EU" to appeal broadly, but it's important to be clear. Understanding the difference helps voters make informed choices, so they have to come clear
