Die Idee dahinter geht in Richtung bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen. Deshalb ist Sam Altman auch bei dem Projekt mit dabei, es soll eine Absicherung gegen die potenziellen  Jobverluste durch KI sein. Zumindest habe ich vor Jahren mal solche Aussagen von ihm gehört.

Um so etwas zu implementieren, muss man natürlich sicherstellen, dass eine Person auch wirklich eine Person ist. Hat man das geschafft, ist man sicher gegenüber Sybil-Attacken, es würde dann natürlich auch keine Anreize für Menschen geben, ihre Keys zu verkaufen.

Eine vertrauenswürdige dezentrale Identität wäre ein wirklich sehr bedeutender Durchbruch, für offene System wie öffentliche Blockchains, aber auch noch darüber hinaus. Die Idee ist daher sehr interessant, die Umsetzung ist aber sehr, sehr schwierig (z.b. wie will man überprüfen, ob jemand noch am Leben ist).

Worldcoin verfolgt den oben beschriebenen Ansatz, der hat aber doch einen stark dystopischen Beigeschmack und wird daher von viel sehr kritisch beurteilt, liegt sicher auch daran, dass der Technologie-Optimismus der letzten drei Jahrzehnte stark abgenommen hat.

Persönlich würde ich diese Technologie noch nicht verteufeln.  Welche Alternativen haben wir denn momentan? Heute werden neue Accounts mit Facebook und Google Accounts abgeglichen ob du real bist.

Jetzt kommt ein neuer Player aufs Spielfeld.  Ob das Projekt vertrauenswürdig ist muss es erst noch in den nächsten Jahren beweisen. Einen Iris Scanner hat doch heute jedes moderne Handy.

Bitcoin hat doch auch vor 14 Jahren kaum jemand vertraut, heute sind es auch nur 5% der Weltbevölkerung 😉

Klingt irgendwie komisch. Das würde auch wieder nur was bringen, wenn das in allen Webseiten integriert wird. Deutschland hat es ja bisher nicht mal zustanden bekommen, dass man sich Online mit seinen Ausweis Verifizieren kann, obwohl da schon seit Ewigkeiten ein Chip integriert ist mit seinen Daten. Von daher würde ich nicht sagen Scam, eher unbrauchbar.

I think it's a scam and it's going to be releasing biological information on people all across the world. I would not trust them with that data.

It sounds like many coins from the early days of ICO's - when people tried to put everything on the blockchain, often when there was no reason for that thing to be on a blockchain. This sounds like one of those "pie in the sky" ideas that sounds interesting and plausible on paper but will never come to fruition or actually amount to anything and will just eventually fade into nothing over time. I'm sure the developers and a select few of early investors will get rich though  😆 

Ich habe auch noch keinen wirklich nutzen entdeckt. 😅

Es ist ein Geschäftsmodell, das - wie so viele - von der Gutgläubigkeit der Menschen profitiert. Kein direkter Betrug, aber Erfolg werden die Orbs keinen haben, da wie Du richtig sagst, sich die Kontrolle umgehen lässt.
Abgesehen davon ist es ein riesiges Datenschutzproblem, wenn eine dubiose zentrale Stelle dermassen viele Iris-Scans verwaltet.

Definitely won't work. If it's a building with iris scanners for security maybe, but still they can be fooled. But on the web it isn't going to work, a nice though though!
