JD Vance destroys EU regulation of AI and Social Media (AI Act and Digital Services Act) at the AI Action Summit in Paris.
Der US-Vizepräsident JD Vance hielt eine coole und starke Rede gegen die Regulierung von KI und Social Media in der EU beim Pariser AI Action Summit, wo auch hochrangige Politiker der EU anwesend waren.

Innovation vor AI-Safety und Free Speech vor dem Digital Services Act, rief Vance die Richtung der USA glasklar aus.

Man kann die USA für Vieles kritisieren, wie die AI/GPU-Exportbeschränkungen gegen Europa, aber Vance zeigte in der Rede klar Leadership und sieht in KI mehr die Chancen (Produktivitätssteigerung) als die Risiken und die Gefahren (wie Fake News). Die EU sieht es genau umgekehrt und das ist der Unterschied und auch einer der Gründe, warum die EU technologisch den USA so hinterherhinken.

Übermäßige Regulierung macht es auch Startups und Firmen in der EU schwer, neue innovative Lösungen mit KI oder Krypto zu entwickeln. Alles wird mit Regulierungen erschwert oder verboten.

US Vice President JD Vance gave a cool and powerful speech against the regulation of AI and social media in the EU at the Paris AI Action Summit, where high-ranking EU politicians were also present.

Innovation before AI Safety and Free Speech before the Digital Services Act, Vance called out the direction of the US crystal clear.

The US can be criticized for many things, such as the AI/GPU export restrictions against Europe, but Vance clearly showed leadership in the speech and sees more opportunities (increased productivity) in AI than risks and dangers (like fake news). The EU sees it the other way around and that is the difference and also one of the reasons why the EU is so technologically behind the US.

Excessive regulation also makes it difficult for start-ups and companies in the EU to develop new innovative solutions with AI or crypto. Everything is made more difficult or restrictive by regulation.

Das zeigt mal wieder den Unterschied zwischen der amerikanischen und der europäischen/deutschen Mentalität: die Amerikaner sehen in allem nur die Chancen und das positive. Die Europäer/Deutschen sind eher pessimistischer und fokussieren sich auf die Risiken. Bei Investments (Aktienmarkt, Start-Ups, ...) sieht man das finde ich auch sehr gut.

Ein Mittelweg sollte hier gefunden werden, meiner Meinung nach.

I think it's better to wait and see how AI develops before making regulations. Making the regulations early before figuring out what is the proper restrictions just doesn't make sense to me. So I think his speech was good.
