Reddit zwingt Smartphone-Benutzer eine App zu installieren (oder sich einzuloggen), um einen Subreddit zu lesen 🤬

Ich möchte nicht irgendeine App installieren müssen, um eine Website verwenden zu können, oder gezwungen werden, mich einzuloggen.

Damit ist es praktisch nicht mehr möglich, anonym ein Reddit-Forum wie den Bitcoin-Subreddit im Webbrowser zu lesen.

Ähnliche Taktiken verwenden auch andere nicht open-source-basierte Social Media wie Twitter oder Facebook.

Twitter zwingt einen sich einzuloggen, wenn man einen öffentlichen Thread lesen möchte.

Was sagt ihr zu diesem App/Log-In-Zwang? Die Benutzer sollen mit einer proprietären App ausspioniert und kontrolliert werden.

Bin dagegen, gezwungen zu werden, eine nicht einsehbare Software (Spyware) auf meinem Smartphone zu installieren.

Reddit forces smartphone users to install an app (or log in) to read a subreddit 🤬

I don't want to have to install some app to use a website, or be forced to log in.

This makes it practically impossible to anonymously read a Reddit forum like the Bitcoin subreddit in the webbrowser.

Similar tactics are used by other non-open-source social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Twitter forces you to log in if you want to read a public thread.

What do you guys say about this forceful app/log-in requirement? Users should be spied on and controlled with a proprietary app.

I'm against being forced to install unwanted, non open software (spyware) on my smartphone.

Es ist wirklich nervig und ich bin verwundert, dass das nicht mehr Leute stört.

Es scheint, als ob das Nutzerwachstum von allen Plattformen stagniert und sie die Nutzer um jeden Preis dazu bringen wollen einen Account zu erstellen.

It seems like every site is doing this now and its so annoying. I refuse to log into a site just to read an article and the last thing I want is a bunch of individual apps on my phone to do the same. It's getting ridiculous

Exactly, I dont want to install dubious apps to view a website, every app is also a security risk, since they are closed source, at best they are just spying on you for personalized ads, at worst they can compromise the security of your smartphone.

I never thought about the security aspect of it, just the annoyance of it all and storage space on the phone, but you are right, it does increase the risk to your personal data.
