Twitter removing likes? Yesterday I was not able to like this tweet. Likes aren't adding to the total.
Entfernt Twitter Likes? Gestern konnte ich diesen Tweet nicht liken. Likes werden nicht zur Gesamtzahl dazugezählt.

Gestern hatte ich wieder ein seltsames Phänomen auf Twitter. Und zwar konnte ich just diesen Tweet von @dalz zur Meinungsfreiheit und Hive nicht liken.

Das Like wurde einfach nicht angenommen, obwohl ich andere Tweets sehr wohl liken konnte.

Heute Vormittag habe ich es wieder probiert und siehe da, jetzt ist das Like durchgegangen. Seltsam.

Entfernt Twitter heimlich Likes? Das ist nicht das erste Mal das mir so etwas auffällt. Oft wird zwar das Like angenommen, aber die Gesamtzahl erhöht sich nicht.

Auch @theycallmedan hat schon öfter von ähnlichen Vorfällen berichtet.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Ist euch das auch schon mal passiert? Das Problem ist, dass Twitter nicht open-source und dezentral ist. Man weiß einfach nicht, wie die Algorithmen arbeiten.

Mittlerweile dämmert es Elon Musk auch, dass Meinungsfreiheit im Internet doch nicht so einfach umsetzbar ist. Das Problem waren und sind die Gesetze und Regierungen. Was ist, wenn ein Land die Meinungsfreiheit sukzessive einschränkt, wie soll sich dann Twitter verhalten?

Das Problem kann man meiner Meinung nach nur mit einem dezentralen quelloffenen Protokoll lösen. So wie @dalz es kommentiert hat.

Does Twitter remove likes? Yesterday I was not able to like this tweet. Likes are not adding to the total.

Yesterday I had another strange phenomenon on Twitter. Namely, I just couldn't like this tweet from @dalz on free speech and Hive.

The Like did not go through, although I was able to like other tweets without any problems.

This morning I tried it again and lo and behold, now the Like went through. Strange.

Does Twitter secretly remove Likes? This is not the first time I've noticed something like that. Often the Like is accepted, but the total number does not increase.

Also @theycallmedan has reported multiple times about similar incidents.

What do you think? Has this happened to you guys as well? The problem is that Twitter is not open-source and decentralized. You just don't know how the algorithm works.

Meanwhile, it's also dawning on Elon Musk that free speech on the Internet isn't so easy to implement after all. The problem was and is: laws, jurisdictions and governments. What if a country successively restricts free speech, how should Twitter react then?

In my opinion, the problem can only be solved with a decentralized open source protocol. Like @dalz commented.

I don't think they are removing likes but they are probably doing something in the background. With Elon coming in, I wouldn't be surprised if they are tweaking things before Elon can make them public or finds out.

Es gibt noch ein kleines Problem, selbst wenn der Code offengelegt ist, ist nicht sicher, dass der veröffentlichte Code derselbe Code ist, der auch tatsächlich zum Einsatz kommt. Das Hauptproblem ist, dass Twitter zentralisiert ist und niemand die Server überprüfen oder alternative Front-Ends betreiben kann. Manipulation könnte es daher trotzdem geben.

Einer der größten Vorteile von Hive: Das Interface kann zwar Bugs haben, durch die Votes nicht an die Blockchain übermittelt werden, aber sobald die Votes einmal da sind, verschwinden sie auch nicht mehr. 😄

yes of course, the decentralized platforms are much more reliable. geopolitical issues and big rats easily can drive such activities. It happens with me before though I don't use twitter much.
