Was ist ein 1 Tesla? Tesla (T) ist eine physikalische Einheit, die nach Nikola Tesla benannt wurde, und die magnetische Flussdichte (Magnetic Flux Density) angibt. Aber was zum Teufel ist die "magnetische Flussdichte"? Die Definition auf Wikipedia ist ziemlich abschreckend, dazu kommt, dass die Einheit im Alltag eher ungebräuchlich ist, obwohl sie eine wichtige physikalische Größe ist: > "Eine Ladung von 1 Coulomb, die sich senkrecht zu einem Magnetfeld von 1 Tesla mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 1 Meter pro Sekunde bewegt, wird mit einer Kraft von 1 Newton abgelenkt." https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_(Einheit) Klingt wie eine Definition aus "Star Trek" oder der "Big Bang Theory", irre kompliziert, aber tatsächlich ist die Einheit viel einfacher verständlich, als man auf den ersten Blick denkt. Jetzt haltet euch fest, Tesla gibt intuitiv einfach die Stärke eines Magnetfelds an einer bestimmten Position im Raum an. Das dahinterstehende physikalische Gesetz ist eine abgeleitete Form der Lorentzkraft: ``` F = B * I * L ``` wobei F die magnetische Kraft (in Newton), B die magnetische Feldstärke (in Tesla), I die Stromstärke (in Ampere) und L die Länge eines Leiters (in Meter) in einem Magnetfeld wie in der Abbildung dargestellt ist. Noch ein wichtiger Zusammenhang ist 1 Tesla = 1 Weber (Wb) pro m^2, wobei Weber auch eine Einheit für den magnetischen Flux ist. 1 Tesla ist übrigens eine ziemlich große Einheit. Das Magnetfeld der Erde hat an der Null-Position (0°N 0°E) zum Beispiel eine Stärke von etwa 32 microtesla (0.000032 T). Ein Kühlschrankmagnet hat eine Stärke von 5 millitesla (0.005 T). Ein Lautsprechermagnet hat 1 bis 2.4 T. Ein MRT 1.5 bis 3 T, was ziemlich viel ist. Magnetische Neutronensterne haben 10^8 bis 10^11 Tesla, was ungefähr die obere bekannte Grenze der Magnetfeld-Stärke im Universum ist. Bereits einige Tesla können übrigens gesundheitsgefährlich für den Menschen sein. Starke Magnetfelder verursachen eine Erwärmung der Haut und ungewollte Stromflüsse im Körper, die ab einer bestimmten Stärke sogar tödlich sein können. Was sagt ihr dazu? Now brace yourself, Tesla intuitively simply indicates the strength of a magnetic field at a certain position in space. The underlying physical law is a derived form of the Lorentz force: ``` F = B * I * L ``` where F is the magnetic force (in Newtons), B is the magnetic field strength (in Tesla), I is the current strength (in amperes) and L is the length of a conductor (in meters) in a magnetic field as shown in the figure. Another important relationship is 1 Tesla = 1 Weber (Wb) per m^2, where Weber is also a unit for magnetic flux. Incidentally, 1 Tesla is a fairly large unit. The Earth's magnetic field at the zero position (0°N 0°E), for example, has a strength of around 32 microtesla (0.000032 T). A refrigerator magnet has a strength of 5 millitesla (0.005 T). A loudspeaker magnet has 1 to 2.4 T. An MRI has 1.5 to 3 T, which is quite a lot. Magnetic neutron stars have 10^8 to 10^11 Tesla, which is about the upper known limit of magnetic field strength in the universe. Even exposure to a few Tesla can be dangerous to human health. Strong magnetic fields can cause a heating of the skin and unwanted current flows in the body, which can even be fatal above a certain strength. What do you think?
