Gestern haben wir zu dritt (@manncpt, @vikisecrets und @solymi) die Hive Blockchain beim Block & Wine Meetup in Wien vorgestellt.

War eine coole Sache. Full House im weXelerate Startup Hub in Wien. @manncpt hat etwas über die coole Community und Hive Meetups erzählt, ich habe Hive allgemein erklärt und ein bisschen über NFTs und NFT Showroom geplaudert und @solymi hat das faszinierende Crypto-Gaming-Universum von Hive und Splinterlands präsentiert.

Wir hatten circa 20 Minuten für den Vortrag (zu dritt) und daher mussten wir uns relativ kurz fassen. Wie immer hab ich ein paar Sachen nicht mehr untergebracht (vergessen zu sagen), wie zum Beispiel, dass man auch für das Kuratieren Rewards bekommt. Aber ich denke, insgesamt war es eine ganz coole Präsentation.

Wir hatten auch moralische Unterstützung von vielen Hivern im Publikum, darunter von @stayoutoftherz, @schmidi, @digitalmike und @cpufronz :)

Vor unserem Vortrag hat Ulli Spankowski von der Bison App / Börse Stuttgart einen Vortrag über Regulierung gehalten. Regulierung ist wichtig für die Massen-Adaption, Kunden müssen den Plattformen vertrauen können.

Regulierung hat zwei Seiten, das hätte ich noch expliziter hervorgehoben. Zum einen geht es darum, die Kunden zu überwachen, dass sie ja keinen Cent an Steuern hinterziehen (KYC) und dann gibt es Regulierung und staatliche Finanzaufsichtsbehörden, die Banken und Börsen kontrollieren sollen, damit die Kundengelder und Assets nicht so einfach verschwinden können und sie keine Scams machen.

Ein bisschen Regulierung ist daher wahrscheinlich sinnvoll und notwendig, aber es besteht auch die Gefahr der Überregulierung. Regulierung verursacht auch Kosten.

Trotz strengster Regulierung gehen sogar in Deutschland und Österreich Banken pleite und sind in Korruptions- und Betrugsfälle verwickelt. Wirecard als jüngstes Beispiel.

Vertraue der Bison App aber weit mehr als zum Beispiel einer zentralisierten Krypto-Börse, die nicht einmal ein Impressum hat. Bison ist ein seriöser Anbieter mit viel Erfahrung und Track Record im Hintergrund.

Vielleicht ist es auch gut, dass im Bear-Market korrupte Börsen wie die FTX vom Markt verschwinden, aber die Ansteckungsgefahr ist enorm und es ist ein großer Rückschlag für die Branche.

Welche Krypto-Company crasht als nächstes? BlockFi, crypto.com, Genesis, ...?

Yesterday three of us (@manncpt, @vikisecrets and @solymi) presented the Hive Blockchain at the Block & Wine Meetup in Vienna.

Was a cool thing. Full house at the weXelerate Startup Hub in Vienna. @manncpt told something about the cool community and Hive Meetups, I explained Hive in general and chatted a bit about NFTs and NFT Showroom and @solymi presented the fascinating crypto gaming universe of Hive and Splinterlands.

We had about 20 minutes for the talk (three of us) so we had to keep it relatively short. As usual, I didn't get a few things in (forgot to say a few points), like how you also get rewards for curating. But I think overall it was a pretty cool presentation.

We also had moral support from many hivers in the audience, including @stayoutoftherz, @schmidi, @digitalmike and @cpufronz :)

Before our talk, Ulli Spankowski from Bison App / Börse Stuttgart gave a talk about regulation. Regulation is important for mass adoption, customers need to be able to trust platforms.

Regulation has two sides, I would have emphasized that more explicitly. On the one hand, it's about surveilling customers to make sure they don't evade a cent in taxes (KYC), and then there is regulation and government financial regulators that are supposed to control banks and exchanges so that customer funds and assets can't disappear easily and they don't do scams.

So a little bit of regulation is probably useful and necessary, but there is also a risk of over-regulation. Regulation also condemns costs.

Despite the strictest regulation, even in Germany and Austria banks go bust and are involved in corruption and fraud cases. Wirecard as the most recent example.

However, I trust the Bison app far more than, for example, a centralized crypto exchange that does not even have an imprint. Bison is a reputable provider with a lot of experience and track record in the field.

Maybe it is also good that in the bear market corrupt exchange like FTX disappear from the market, but the risk of contagion is enormous and it is a big setback for the crypto industry.

Which crypto company will crash next? BlockFi, crypto.com, Genesis, ...?
