Try kindness Instead.

If there is one thing we can all agree on it is the fact that the world can be a nasty place. Certain things happen and all you can do is wonder. The good news is that there are numerous things we can do to make the world less nasty and I'd be discussing one of these things with you.

About two weeks ago, I was surfing through videos on YouTube and I saw this comedy skit by Trevor Noah –a comedian. He was basically narrating how life as a kid was judging from the fact that he was born when racism was extremely high in South Africa. Fortunately or Unfortunately for him, his dad was white and his mom was black so basically he was a walking, living and breathing taboo.

To prevent any form of havoc, he lived with his mom and this only meant that he couldn't interact freely with his father and he also had to encounter racism of the first degree. On one of those days, he asked his mom.

"Mom, what do I do when the white people pick on me because of my colour?"

His mom's response was very unexpected for an African lady but her response only proved that good people who wanted the world to be a better place still exist. His mom said

"When they try to be mean to you, you accept all the meanness, fill it with so much love and send it back to them".

Woah.

This brings me to the song "kill 'em with kindness" by Selena Gomez. Luckily for me, I got exposed to songs like this when my mind was still assimilating information instantly. Times when I heard songs, took out the good lessons and dumped the bad or unuseful ones.

Just like the title implies, kill 'em with kindness is a song that talks extensively on the fact that guns and bullets aren't the only ways to kill a person, you could try killing them with kindness, or maybe you could just run for your life:)

I adopted the kill 'em with kindness lifestyle and believe me when I say not everyone likes this lifestyle. It could be due to the fact that this attitude taints their ego/own attitude or that's just what they choose to believe. Some people are always ready for a good fight. You say anything that doesn't sit right with them and they are already warming up for battle. Warming up to make life a disaster for another person when you could do the direct opposite instead.

I wonder what the universe would be like if more people with this attitude emerged. People that know when to stop, when to chuckle and look the other way and when to walk away from certain situations. I guess there would be more peaceful cohabitation.

I got into a little banter with a hivian a while back and we both came to a conclusion that certain global wars, havoc and destruction that occurred to discomfort millions of people could have been settled if one or more people involved knew when to put the hate down and invariably chose to kills with kindness instead.

Certainly, not everyone in the world would or can adopt this attitude as some people do not really have a choice. But for those with free will and freedom of choices; next time you're fighting, kill them with kindness.

Hmmmm! I love this, instead of guns, knife and cutlasses, there is a better way to kill humans "kill them with kindness" If only everyone will adapt this method then I believe the world will be a peaceful place.
