Bem vindos a mais uma publicação na [Comunidade WorldMapPin](https://peakd.com/c/hive-163772/created)!

Caminhadas ao ar livre e com amigos, é capaz de ser a actividade que eu mais gosto de fazer. Se a mesma for durante um dia espetacular, e se a paisagem é igualmente fantástica, temos então todos os ingredientes necessários para um dia muito bem passado! 

Desde o ano passado que sou associado de uma Organização chamada "Hidrosfera Portugal" [[1](https://www.facebook.com/hidrosfera.portugal), [2](https://www.instagram.com/hidrosfera_portugal/)]. É uma organização não ´governamental e ambientalista, que visa promover a mudança de atitudes e comportamentos com especial enfoque na água do nosso planeta. 

Por ocasião da comemoração do "Dia Mundial dos Rios" que acontece no quarto Domingo de Setembro, e que no ano passado calhou no dia 29, a "Hidrosfera Portugal" lançou um desafio aos seus associados e amigos, um passeio pelas margens da Foz do Rio Lizandro, no concelho de Mafra. 

Partilho aqui hoje a primeira parte do percurso, que começou na Rua da Amoreiras, onde deixamos as viaturas, partindo depois por um percurso pedonal natural, e acompanhando o curso final do Rio, até à sua Foz na Praia da Foz do Rio Lizandro. As fotografias que partilho são da primeira parte do percurso, desde a Rua das Amoreiras, passando pela Praia da Foz do Lizandro até perto da Capela de São Julião. Parte do percurso foi feito no trilho [PR10 MFR do Vale do Lizandro](https://lizandro.pt/pr10-mfr/), também conhecido como Trilho de São Julião. 

A manhã estava particularmente agradável, e quando saímos pelas 9h, já se fazia sentir o calor, e nem se quer levamos casacos vestidos. Apenas um boné era aconselhado usar, pois por estas latitudes, o sol acaba por queimar um pouco a pele, apesar de só o sentirmos algumas horas depois. 

Passamos por outra pequena rua, e muito pitoresca, ladeada por vivendas e grandes campos de cultivo, que tinha o nome mais do que apropriado de "Rua do Jardim". De facto, todas as casas ali pareciam muito bem cuidadas, e todas com os pormenores de não terem demasiados adornações, mas mais um enquadramento perfeito no meio do manto verde da Carvoeira. Uma das zonas mais sensíveis e mais bonitas aqui da região da Ericeira. 

Apesar de no grupo haver uma criança pequena, tudo correu bem na caminha. O percurso é muito acessível, apesar de termos que guardar sempre cuidado para não nos aproximar muito das zonas das arribas, principalmente quando nos aproximamos mais da zona costeira, perto da praia. 

O rio aparecia de um tom azul muito profundo, com as margens ladeadas pela vegetação rasteira, mas muito verdejante. 

O percurso teve algumas partes em que passava perto das zona protegida das dunas, e consolidações arenosas, mas infelizmente ainda vimos alguns sinais de utilização destes percursos por jipes e mesmo por moto quatros. 

Enquanto não houver uma consciência que as regras não são apenas um conjunto de medidas que nos impedem de fazer o que bem queremos, mas que são para proteger o que ainda temos, para as gerações futuras, muito trabalho ainda há a fazer. 

Durante este percurso, apesar de não o ter fotografado, fui apanhando algum lixo não orgânico esquecido, ou abandonado. Muitos plásticos, de formas e cores variadas, que foram ficando... É das coisas que mais gosto de fazer quando estou a dar um passeio ao ar livre. Levo sempre um saco para ir apanhando o lixo que não está particularmente sujo, e que é relativamente inerte (como por exemplo plásticos e metais (latas de refrigerantes)). 

Foi uma manhã muito agradável, passada com amigos e em contacto com a natureza... Não conheço muito mais coisas que sejam tão agradáveis de fazer e sem sequer termos que pagar nada.

Welcome to another post in the [WorldMapPin Community](https://peakd.com/c/hive-163772/created)!

Hiking outdoors with friends is probably my favorite activity. If it's during a spectacular day, and if the scenery is just as fantastic, then we have all the ingredients for a great day out!

Since last year I have been a member of an organization called “Hidrosfera Portugal” [[1](https://www.facebook.com/hidrosfera.portugal), [2](https://www.instagram.com/hidrosfera_portugal/)]. It's a non-governmental, environmentalist organization that aims to promote changes in attitudes and behaviour, with a special focus on our planet's water.


On the occasion of “World Rivers Day”, which takes place on the fourth Sunday of September and last year fell on the 29th, Hidrosfera Portugal launched a challenge to its members and friends: a walk along the banks of the Foz do Rio Lizandro, in the municipality of Mafra.

Today, I'm sharing the first part of the route, which began at Rua da Amoreiras, where we left our vehicles, and then set off along a natural pedestrian path, following the final course of the river to its mouth at Praia da Foz do Rio Lizandro. The photos I'm sharing are of the first part of the route, from Rua das Amoreiras, past Praia da Foz do Lizandro to near the Chapel of São Julião. Part of the route was on the [Lizandro Valley PR10 MFR trail](https://lizandro.pt/pr10-mfr/), also known as the São Julião Trail.

The morning was particularly pleasant, and when we left at 9am, the heat was already being felt, and we didn't even have jackets on. We were only advised to wear a hat, because at these latitudes, the sun burns the skin a little, although we only felt it a few hours later.


We passed another small and very picturesque street, lined with houses and large cultivated fields, which had the more than appropriate name of “Rua do Jardim”. In fact, all the houses there looked very well looked after, and all with the detail of not having too many adornments, but more of a perfect setting in the middle of Carvoeira's green mantle. One of the most sensitive and beautiful areas here in the Ericeira region.

Although there was a small child in the group, everything went well on the walk. The route is very accessible, although we always have to be careful not to get too close to the cliffs, especially when we get closer to the coast, near the beach.

The river was a deep shade of blue, its banks lined with undergrowth, but very green.


The route had some parts where it passed close to protected dune areas and sandy consolidations, but unfortunately we still saw some signs of jeeps and even quad bikes using these routes.

As long as there is no awareness that the rules are not just a set of measures that prevent us from doing what we want, but that they are to protect what we still have, for future generations, there is still a lot of work to be done.

During this walk, although I didn't photograph it, I did pick up some forgotten or abandoned non-organic waste. A lot of plastic, in various shapes and colors, that was left behind... It's one of my favorite things to do when I'm outdoors. I always take a bag to pick up garbage that isn't particularly dirty and is relatively inert (such as plastics and metals (soft drink cans)).

It was a very pleasant morning, spent with friends and in contact with nature... I don't know many other things that are so enjoyable to do and without even having to pay anything.
