## <center>Macro Photography</center><br>

Steemians! Sharing my journey with Macro Photography, I did a few experiments with prime lenses, zoom lenses, their apertures, filters and coupling rings. The Idea in this post is that I share how I got results by revealing the coupling rings, adapters and lenses I use. In this latest post here, I am sharing attempts of what one could classify more as macro photography compared to my previous <i> attempts </i>.

In this post I am illustrating how I am currently trying to achieve magnification and close ups using Sony E-mount to Canon FD adapters and Canon FD lenses. In one version I use a simple macro filter on a 35-105 Macro lens and in the second attempt I am utilising a coupling ring and reversing a 50mm Prime lens.

<h5>In the following attempts I tried two lenses. </h5>

<sup>- A 35-105mm Macro Lens with a +8 Macro filter. </sup>
<sup>- A 35-105mm Lens with a reversed 50mm 1.4 Prime lens coupled with a 5mm diameter coupling ring.</sup>

<sup>35-105mm Lens with 55mm diameter coupling ring and a 50mm f 1.4 prime lens reversed. </sup>

<blockquote>With a reversed 50mm or 28mm prime lens you can achieve up to X3 times magnification. During my last attempts I reversed the lens to see a difference in magnification and noticed it by accident. I simply thought about reversing binoculars when I was a kid to get a magnifying glass. Never would I have thought there were rings to couple lenses and that this was actually a technique used in macro photography. At that point I realised that I was on to something when I went searching for it online. </blockquote><br>

These were only my first few attempts and I will try more. I still haven't figured out the settings of apertures and focal length. I accidentally figured out a great setting to use the whole frame. Could not replicate the setting again. I will hopefully stumble across it again soon. Until then I will also be happy to share some of my shots on #APPICS.

There are really good small lenses for mobile phones with magnification and a set can costs only 8 dollars. I sometimes al so surprised that my iphone takes much better Landscape pictures than if i take my 18-200mm out, which is a heavy lens. I only enjoy using the camera with prime lenses for portraits and creating vintage type pictures that make photographers pull out their hairs. It‘s very unprofessional.
