Hello to all my readers! Today I will continue my story about an incredible adventure that took place last summer in St. Petersburg. We will talk again about Kronstadt and our family visit to the Reef Fort.

***INFORMATION FROM THE WEB:*** *The Reef Fort is located in a surprisingly picturesque place, on the western tip of Kotlin Island. Due to the good preservation of the fortifications, the Reef Fort is of great interest to fans of military history and fortification. "Reef" is the most powerful fortification of the Kronstadt fortress. From here you can enjoy beautiful views of the "Seal Ridge" and Tolbukhin Lighthouse — the oldest lighthouse in Russia. The Reef Fort is included in the UNESCO Heritage List.*

If you adore all sorts of abandoned and mossy places, then this place is exceptionally suitable for you. There is one continuous photo zone and there is something to admire. Personally, I am ready to contemplate such things for hours, for some reason they imbue me with incredible energy.

Perhaps this is because a lot of effort and resources were once invested in this place. Just look at the thickness of the walls of the concrete fortifications, over which time has no control. Bad weather is trying in every possible way to destroy this place, but it will probably take centuries before nature finally takes its course.

According to the tourist guide, army life has been in full swing here for many years in a row. It was only in 1973 that Ford officially ceased to exist as a military facility. However, until 2014, the territory was still in a closed area for tourists. It was in this year that the military units were finally withdrawn from here.

I was going to tell you about our exploration of the underground catacombs in this place, but I have accumulated so many photographs and interesting information that I simply will not be able to fit it all into a short publication. Tomorrow I will fulfill my promise and show you the very creepy dungeons of the fort.

And now just admire these beautiful views all the way to the horizon. It seems to me that I was not the only one who felt the surge of energy at that moment. In my opinion, all visitors are incredibly fascinated by this place. The city authorities promise to begin major restoration work in the fort, and it seems to me that the invisible magic of these ruins may suffer considerably from this.

***СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ:*** *Форт "Риф" располагается в удивительно живописном месте, на западной оконечности острова Котлин. Благодаря хорошей сохранности оборонительных сооружений форт «Риф» представляет огромный интерес для любителей военной истории и фортификации. «Риф» самое мощное укрепление Кронштадтской крепости. Отсюда открываются прекрасные виды на «Тюленью гряду» и Толбухин маяк — старейший маяк России. Форт «Риф» включен в список наследия ЮНЕСКО.*

Если вы обожаете всякие заброшенные и поросшие мхом места, то это место исключительно вам подойдёт. Здесь одна сплошная фотозона и есть на что полюбоваться. Лично я готов созерцать подобные вещи часами, почему-то они напитывают меня невероятной энергией.

Возможно, это потому, что в это место когда-то было вложено очень много сил и ресурсов. Вы только посмотреть на толщину стен бетонных укреплений, над которыми невластно время. Непогода всячески пытается разрушить это место, но пройдут, наверное, столетия, прежде чем природа окончательно возьмёт своё.

Если верить туристическому справочнику, здесь кипела армейская жизнь многие годы подряд. Лишь в 1973 году форд официально прекратил своё существование, как военный объект. Однако вплоть до 2014 года территория всё ещё находилась в закрытой зоне для посещений туристов. Именно в этот год воинские части окончательно были выведены отсюда.

А сейчас просто полюбуйтесь на эти прекрасные виды до самого горизонта. Мне кажется, прилив энергии чувствовал в тот момент не только я один. На мой взгляд все посетители невероятно очарованы этим местом. Власти города обещают начать крупные реставрационные работы в форте, и мне кажется, незримая магия этих развалин может изрядно пострадать от этого.
