Today I want to share you about one of traditional hat from Aceh, **Kopiah Meukeutop**
Kupiah Meukeutop is a traditional hat from Aceh. Use by men for tradition ceremony, Kupiah meukeutop made of red and yellow base colored fabrics. The fabric is knitted into a single, circular shape. At the bottom, there are motifs of webbing combined black, green, red and yellow. A similar webbing is in the center.

In the lower head circle, there is a more dominant motif, shaped 'lam' in hijaiyah. But there is a line that connects between the bottom and top of the motif. The same motif is also in the upper head circle. It's just smaller in size. At the top, there is a white yarn crochet as a golden yellow crown base, three-tiered. The colors used have their own meaning.
Red symbolizes heroism, yellow means kingdom or country, green signifies religion, black means firmness or determination, while white means purity or sincerity.
Overall, kupiah meukeutop is divided into four parts. Just like in color, each part also has its own meaning.The first part is lawful, the second part, have a tradition meaning, the third part means *qanun* and the fourth meaning *reusam*. The forms and motif of the meukeutop kuta are generally the same. Only the color of songket costume to wrap a circle of the kupiah is different. Usually adjusted to the color songket on clothes.
To beautify, in addition to songket, kupiah meukeutop decorated typical trinkets of Aceh. But now, sometimes added a necklace on the front. Kupiah meukeutop for the people of Aceh is not only worth in terms of tradition, but also full of historical value. Historically, the kupiah meukeutop more identical with hat of greatness that is often used Teuku Umar, national hero from Aceh.
