| body | "The stock market isn't doing too well so that presents some decent opportunities to pick up stocks on the cheap. I've been keeping my eye on DBS, which is the biggest bank back home. It is expanding into China and India. You can even see an increased presence here in Hong Kong.
Its share price was at $28 just a few weeks ago but has now fallen to just below $25. At the current share price, the stock presents a dividend yield of around 4.8% - 5.1%.
Anyway, so i bought a couple of shares and have 3 days to settle the purchase. That's where the annoyance starts. My silly broker did not give clear instructions on how to settle. Do they want their customers to miss the deadline so that they can charge a late fee?
I had to search on Google and get the instructions on one of our local forums. As you'd imagine, those folks weren't too happy either and were complaining about the unclear instructions as well.
The frustration with a lack of instructions applies to many sites as well. Steve Jobs said he wanted to build products that were so intuitive, they didn't need an instruction manual. If your site or product doesn't pass the test, please include a manual." |
