Veamos esto más a fondo.

# ¿Ques es la nictofilia?
El origen etimológico de la palabra proviene del idioma griego al conjugar la plabra _nykto_ que significa _noche_, philos que significa _amante de_ o _amigo_ y _la_ que significa _cualidad_ entonces la conjugación traducida del griego seria _Cualidad de amar la noche_ la cual viene a ser muy acertada.
Esa vendría a ser su etimología, el origen de la palabra. Pero a pesar de que lleva el sufijo filia no tiene nada que ver con el acto sexual a diferencia de las otras filias o más específicamente parafilias. Este interés en la noche puede que en ciertas personas les cause cierta excitación sexual pero debido a que no está acompañada de un aumento inusual del deseo sexual no está incluida en las parafilias.
A las personas con nictofilia se les llama nictofilicos o noctámbulos.

# ¿Qué causa la nictofilia?
Bien esta pregunta se puede interpretar de dos maneras. Como ¿Cuáles son sus causas? Y también como ¿Qué es lo que causa? Así como síntomas por decirlo de alguna manera. Y daremos respuesta a ambas preguntas así que se pude tomar como un 2x1. ¡¡Que ofertón!!
## Causas
La verdad es que como la [nictofobia](https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@luisestaba23/es-en-le-temes-a-la-oscuridad-este-post-es-para-ti-or-are-you-afraid-of-the-darkness-this-post-is-for-you) no se puede decir exactamente que causa que las personas sean nictofilicas, ya que al ser cada persona un mundo hace que las ciencias humanas sean difíciles en cuanto a precisión se trata y al ser algo relativamente nuevo no hay mucha información verídica al respecto. Por el momento solo contamos con lo que dicen los nictofilicos sobre la noche y porque les gusta tanto (entre ellos yo).
Algunos afirman que durante la noche sienten emociones muy fuertes y casi siempre son agradables, además de experimentar una sensación de bienestar y comodidad que por más que quieran no pueden conseguir durante el día. En cambio, otras personas les gustan la noche debido a las actividades que se desarrollan y disfrutan mejor durante esta. Cosas como ir a bares, discotecas, clubes nocturnos o cines (creo que para todos es mejor ver películas de noche ¿no?). Algunos artistas nictofilicos aseguran que durante la noche son más creativos y crear su arte se les da mejor. Esto ocurre con todo tipo de artistas, dibujantes, cantantes, músicos instrumentales, escritores e incluso lectores. Algunos afirman que durante el día su creatividad no fluye y que además si intentaran **crear** durante el día el resultado no sería el mismo ya que sufren aletargamiento y desánimo y ¿Quién podría crear algo apreciable estando así?

También se cree que hay un factor psicológico en todo esto ya que la mayor parte de los nictofilicos o noctámbulos son introvertidos, tienen unos grandes coeficientes intelectuales o incluso ambos ya que estos 2 factores muchas veces se llevan de la mano. Esto se debe a que de estas personas durante la noche encuentran la calma necesaria para que su cerebro trabaje al 100% ya que durante el día se encuentran sobre estimulados por diversas causas sensoriales.

## Síntomas
Algunas personas con nictofilia pueden llegar a desarrollar ciertos síntomas como si de una enfermedad se tratase. Esto es debido a que por el gran gusto que le tienen a la noche dejan de dormir o lo hacen de día, pero esto causa que a veces se duerma menos de lo debido y no es secreto que el sueño es esencial para todos. Entre los “síntomas” se encuentra el insomnio o los patrones de sueño alterados. Con esto se alteran muchas otras cosas. Pero la salud no se ve tan afectada por la nictofilia como la vida en general. Ya que el mundo es y se rige por diurnos dejando a los noctámbulos en grandes aprietos con sus empleos y vida social.

# De la nictofobia a la filia.
Este apartado es más personal ya que hablare de la nictofilia desde mi punto de vista y explicare como creo que ocurrió mi transición de un nictofobico a un noctámbulo.
Pues como todos al principio de mi vida le tenía un pavor enorme a la oscuridad y era medio justificado porque debido a mi diabetes, creo que era por eso. Veía muchas cosas perturbadoras cuando estaba en la oscuridad. Hace relativamente poco descubrí que puedo ver espíritus y esas cosas así que ahora no se si era eso o la diabetes ya que eran más bien como visiones. Eso sumado a lo que nuestra imaginación nos dice que puede haber allí es suficiente para asustar a cualquiera.
Aun en la adolescencia le temía a la oscuridad como hasta los 13 o 14 años cuando descubrí que el miedo a la oscuridad se debía a nuestro temor por lo desconocido y que el conocimiento es la luz que disipa nuestro miedo. Como a mí desde siempre me ha gustado saber cosas para analizarlas y poner mi cerebro a trabajar, pues, analice este nuevo conocimiento y con ello mi temor a la oscuridad iba desapareciendo. Disfrutaba cada vez más de acampar que ya de por si me encantaba. Luego me empezó a gustar la calma y la quietud que había en las noches estrelladas tendido en el piso observando el firmamento. Así poco a poco me iba acostumbrando a disfrutar la noche, ¿Y porque no hacerlo? Tenía más tranquilidad para disfrutar mis animes y series favoritas, las películas de terror eran más emocionantes, el internet era mejor. Y por sobre todo eso **el silencio** sumado a cierta selenofilia (filia intelectual relacionada a la luna) hacen que para mí las noches sean lo mejor del día. Sin darme cuenta me empezó a dar insomnio, me acostumbre a él y me volví noctámbulo. **El silencio** es algo muy preciado para mí, ya que el ruido me afecta físicamente y me pone de muy mal humor. También me sucede como en los casos que mencione anteriormente, puedo escribir de día, pero me resulta muy forzado y no me siento cómodo haciéndolo. Este articulo lo comencé como a las 11 am y hasta que oscureció fue que me pude inspirar en escribirlo. Bueno la verdad es que me quedo corto diciendo cuanto disfruto la noche asi que para no entender esto más de lo necesario me despido de ustedes.

# What is nyctophilia?
The etymological origin of the word comes from the Greek language by conjugating the word _nykto_ meaning _night_, philos meaning _lover of_ or _friend_ and _la_ meaning _quality_ so the conjugation translated from Greek would be _quality of loving the night_ which comes to be very accurate.
That would be its etymology, the origin of the word. But although it carries the suffix filia it has nothing to do with the sexual act unlike the other filias or more specifically paraphilias. This interest in the night may cause some sexual arousal in some people but because it is not accompanied by an unusual increase in sexual desire it is not included in the paraphilias.
People with nictophilia are called nictophiliacs or night owls.

# What causes nictophilia?
Well this question can be interpreted in two ways. As what causes it? And also as What causes it? As well as symptoms so to speak. And we will answer both questions so it can be taken as a 2 for 1. What a bargain!
## Causes

For the moment we only have what nictophiliacs say about the night and why they like it so much (including me).
Some say that during the night they feel very strong emotions and they are almost always pleasant, besides experiencing a feeling of well-being and comfort that they can't get during the day no matter how much they want to. On the other hand, other people like the night because of the activities that are developed and enjoyed better during the night. Things like going to bars, discos, nightclubs or cinemas (I think it's better for everyone to watch movies at night, right?). This happens with all kinds of artists, cartoonists, singers, instrumental musicians, writers and even readers. Some say that during the day their creativity does not flow and that if they tried to **create** during the day the result would not be the same because they suffer lethargy and discouragement and who could create something appreciable being like this?

It is also believed that there is a psychological factor in all this since most of the nictophiliacs or night owls are introverted, have high IQs or even both since these 2 factors often go hand in hand. This is due to the fact that during the night these people find the necessary calm for their brain to work at 100% because during the day they are over stimulated by various sensory causes.

## Symptoms
Some people with nyctophilia may develop certain symptoms as if it were a disease. This is due to the fact that because of the great taste they have for the night they stop sleeping or sleep during the day, but this sometimes causes them to sleep less than they should, and it is no secret that sleep is essential for everyone. Among the "symptoms" is insomnia or disturbed sleep patterns. With this many other things are disturbed. But health is not so much affected by nyctophilia as life in general. # From nyctophobia to philia.
This section is more personal since I will talk about nictophilia from my point of view and I will explain how I think my transition from a nictophobic to a night owl happened.
Well, like everyone else at the beginning of my life I had a huge fear of the dark and it was half justified because due to my diabetes, I think that's why. I saw a lot of disturbing things when I was in the dark. Relatively recently I discovered that I can see spirits and stuff so now I don't know if it was that or the diabetes because they were more like visions. That coupled with what our imagination tells us might be there is enough to scare anyone.
Even as a teenager I was afraid of the dark until I was about 13 or 14 when I discovered that fear of the dark was due to our fear of the unknown and that knowledge is the light that dispels our fear. Since I have always liked to know things to analyze them and put my brain to work, I analyzed this new knowledge and with it my fear of the dark was disappearing. I enjoyed camping more and more, which I already loved. Then I began to like the calm and quietness of the starry nights lying on the ground watching the sky. So little by little I was getting used to enjoy the night, and why not do it? I had more tranquility to enjoy my favorite anime and series, horror movies were more exciting, the internet was better. And above all that **the silence** added to a certain selenophilia (intellectual philia related to the moon) make that for me the nights are the best of the day. Without realizing it, I started to get insomnia, I got used to it and I became a night owl. **Silence** is something very precious to me, since noise affects me physically and puts me in a very bad mood. It also happens to me as in the cases I mentioned before, I can write during the day, but I find it very forced and I don't feel comfortable doing it. I started this article at about 11 am and it wasn't until it got dark that I was inspired to write it. Well the truth is that I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy the night, so in order not to understand this any more than necessary, I'll say goodbye to you.
