So könnte man die Verwirrung zwischen Microblogging und langen Artikeln im neuen UI lösen.

@leofinance hat die Alpha-Version des neuen User-Interface Project Blank gelauncht, ein Microblogging-Dienst auf Hive. Dezentrales Twitter sozusagen. Vormals unter Leo Threads bekannt.

Ein Problem ist allerdings die Verwirrung zwischen kurzen Threads (Microblogging) und die Integration von normalen, längeren Hive-Posts in eine Plattform.

Ein ähnliches Problem hatte auch inji, wenn ihr euch noch daran erinnern könnt. Die inji-Tweets wurden in einer proprietären, zentralisierten Datenbank gespeichert. Das hat LeoFinance mit Threads besser gelöst, indem die "Threads" als Kommentare auf der Hive-Blockchain gepostet werden. Blockchain-basiert.

## Problem

Wenn man auf "Publish" auf der linken Navigation klickt, erstellt man einen üblichen, langen Hive-Artikel mit Titel und Tags. Wenn man allerdings auf Threads in der Hauptspalte klickt, einen kurzen "Tweet". Das ist verwirrend.

## Lösung

Die Idee ist beide Funktionalitäten in einem Interface zu vereinen, ähnliche wie es Twitter vor Kurzem gelöst hat.

Es sollte nur ein "Publish"-Interface geben. Postet man einen Text, der kürzer als 280 Zeichen ist, wird automatisch ein Leo "Thread" gepostet, schreibt man etwas längeres wird ein normaler Hive-Artikel daraus gemacht und das Interface könnte noch nach einem Titel und Tags fragen oder diese sogar automatische (mit AI) generieren. Hashtags im Posts könnten als Hive-Tags verwendet werden.

Der Haupt-Feed sollte sowohl Threads als auch lange Posts anzeigen und lange Posts mit einem "Show more"-Button kürzen.

Ähnlich wie es Twitter gelöst hat.

Zwei unterschiedliche Feeds und Publish-Buttons sind extrem verwirrend. Das gehört vereint.

Die Alternative wäre, sich nur auf Microblogging zu konzentrieren.

Here's how to solve the confusion between microblogging and long articles in the new UI.

@leofinance has launched the alpha version of the new user interface Project Blank, a microblogging service on Hive. Decentralized Twitter, so to speak. Formerly known as Leo Threads.

One problem, however, is the confusion between short threads (microblogging) and the integration of normal, longer Hive posts into one platform.

inji had a similar problem, if you remember. The inji tweets were stored in a proprietary, centralized database. LeoFinance has solved that better with threads, posting the "threads" as comments on the Hive blockchain. Blockchain-based.

## Problem

Clicking "Publish" on the left navigation creates a usual long Hive article with title and tags. Whereas, when you click on Threads in the main column a short "tweet" is published. This is confusing.

## Solution

The idea is to combine both functionalities in one interface, similar to what Twitter recently did.

There should be only one "publish" interface. If you post a text shorter than 280 characters, a Leo "thread" should be posted automatically, if you write something longer it should be turned into a normal Hive article and the interface could still ask for a title and tags or even generate them automatically (with AI). Hashtags in posts could be used as hive tags.

The main feed should show both threads and long posts and shorten long posts with a "Show more" button.

Similar to how Twitter solved it.

Two different feeds and publish buttons are extremely confusing. That needs to be unified.

The alternative would be to focus only on microblogging.

Yep this is exactly what I picked up as well. The easiest solution I could think of is to make it more clear to users that there's two sides to the site Blogging and Threading which is like tweets. That publish button should be updated to read Blog or the entire UI needs a once over really to make sure these two areas are clear. It's one of the BIG negatives about having the so called "everything app" You try and do everything and only do it good instead of focusing and doing it awesome. It's why I'm still iffy about there not being a separate site/front end for threads while LeoFinance stayed the blogging side of things.

Yeah, thats the problem of combining everything into one app, but I think it can be solved, if the app hides the complexity for the user.

It doesn't seem very confusing to me but when you put different things together this can happen. I liked the original plan of having two different platforms and two different tokens better. But we'll see how everything works out for them and I hope Leo's guys have success with their project.

Bin noch nicht dazugekommen das neue UI genauer anzusehen, aber grundsätzlich finde ich, dass ein solches Produkt sehr einfach und intuitiv gestaltet werden sollte, dann wird es von dementsprechend mehr Leuten benutzt und als gut befunden. Deshalb finde ich deinen Vorschlag nicht schlecht.

Nice Catch... Yeah, for someone trying threads first time might Get confused coz of "Publish" "Thread" at same place.

I liked this Suggestion...but Only if long post don't start to show up on short Threads place. It will be a mess this way imo.

"Wenn man auf "Publish" auf der linken Navigation klickt, erstellt man einen üblichen, langen Hive-Artikel mit Titel und Tags."

Wo werden die Beiträge eigentlich angezeigt, wenn man sie über "Publish" veröffentlicht? Wenn ich auf "Profile" klicke, sehe ich dort nur die kurzen Texten und nichts langformatiges.

Könnte man dann nicht auch den Button "Publish" entfernen und dieses Interface nur für kurzformatige Texte nutzen?

keine Ahnung ob das Machbar ist, wünschenswert wäre es!

Jedoch, wie ich beriets an anderer Stelle schrieb:

Wenn man es weiß, dann ist es nicht verwirrend mehr.
Deine Idee ist gut, solange das Interface einen warnt, dass man über der Grenze ist und ab jetzt es ein Post wird und kein Thread.
Was ich störender finde, sind die Notifications. Die kann man nicht anklicken und daher nicht den Kontext anzeigen lassen.
~~Auch kann man nicht im Profil sehen, welche Threads man gepostet hat~~, das wurde offenbat korrigiert.
Für mich ein halbfertiges Produkt, das in extrem peinlicher Weise gehyped wird. Für externe Nutzer muss das ziemlich schräg sein. Auch die willkürlichen trending tags, die keinen Bezug zur Realität haben, schrecken sicher einige ab.
