I have my doubts about an insecticide that is not harmful to the plants but to the insects and pests that could plague the plantations. In general, what affects one living being will affect all, as a general rule, of course. And if we consider the fact that they contaminate soils, it makes it more difficult.

Of course some pesticides and herbicides harm crops. Small loss is accepted to avoid big danger. The soil remains contaminated for several months but is not very effective
