From July 7 to 11, 2025, the annual astronomy meeting of UK space scientists and astronomers was held at the University of Durhan, United Kingdom. These types of conferences are one of the most important because obviously the United Kingdom has an impressive tradition of scientific and astronomical research.
<p><br></p>
These meetings are important because new theories are presented and one of those that has been presented is the one that raises the possibility that the Earth and the galaxy, our galaxy, the Milky Way, is located within an enormous void, a hole, a hole in the universe, and that explanation would provide a solution to the problem of the Hubble tension or Hubble crisis, which is one of the most headache-inducing and disconcerting problems in current cosmology.
<p><br></p>
This tension or this paradox, I would almost call it a paradox because we do not know why the changes or why they occur, occurs because there is a discrepancy between the two ways we have of measuring the expansion rate of the universe, the universe expands, but depending on how we measure it, it expands in a different way.

</center>
<p><br></p>
<div class="text-justify">
The standard cosmological model produces a slower expansion rate than the measurements we are taking from the nearby, more recent universe. This assumes that the universe accelerated a few billion years ago, which is what we see with this bell shape opening up. About 3,000 or 4,000 million years ago the universe accelerated according to one way of measuring the acceleration of the universe and according to the official theory or the standard cosmological model, that should not happen, and that difference is what is called the Hubble stress.
<p><br></p>
The theory that has been presented now provides a solution and does so in such a way that it would also imply that the Earth and our galaxy are in a special place in the universe. According to the approach, the Earth and our entire galaxy, the Milky Way, could be inside and in fact at the center of a giant hole in the cosmos, which causes the cosmos to expand faster in this hole, faster than in the rest of the universe outside of it.
<p><br></p>
As the vacuum empties, the speed of objects moving away from us would be greater than if the vacuum did not exist, it is as if we were falling faster into this hole, into this hole in the universe. And that is why it gives us the impression that everything is expanding more rapidly than outside the hole, therefore, it gives the impression of a greater rate of local expansion, that would explain why if we look up to about 2 billion years ago, it seems to us that the universe is accelerating, while if we look further away it seems to us that the universe is accelerating, but not as much.
<p><br></p>
It would mean that we had fallen into that well, into that hole that makes it seem to us that everything is going faster, expanding faster, it would be a hole, it would be a hole or it would be a zone of vacuum, these are the three terms they use in this explanation, in this theory, it would be a hole within that universe and that is why everything in it seems to go faster, the expansion, I mean.

<div class="text-justify">
In short, we are in a hole in space, a hole where our entire galaxy and a few others are stuck, not just us, the rest of the galaxies that surround us, Andromeda and all the others, the one with the hat, all the ones that are close to us, would be inside that hole, what happens is that the Milky Way, curiously, according to this theory, would be practically in the center and that is a bit of a problem because eh it would be a lot of coincidence, according to this theory and it is one of the problems, We would have to be in the center of that void of about 1 billion years, radio light that would have a much lower density than that of the rest of the universe.
