Twitter's engagement these days is being determined by the blue tick. Infact the engagement has gotten worse since Elon musk took over. As for part of your followers. I've been an ardent follower of yours and only started commenting. It's better here on hive because it's more organic. The fakery on Twitter is just too much.

Isn't it funny how on a platform where we essentially get paid to engage, engagement feels more authentic here than it does on Twitter where everything is free. I think that is essentially because of the large but non-obvious incentive on Twitter to harvest people's attention for financial gain (eg. promote covert advertisements and scams). While every single engagement on Hive is a potential earning, that potential is limited and the scope of earnings from attempting to harvest attention is not enough to justify those types of behavior. Perhaps even more importantly, attempting such strategies damages your ability to earn in the normal way on Hive. It would risk all your comments getting downvoted, which then proceeds to limit your reach.

You're absolutely right, another thing I think is that the whole ideas of web2 social apps are meant to take advantage of the larger population, for the gains of a few. Monetize their data, while creating a lot of fakery in the process. Like you said, hive is tailored in ways where the system blends one to good behavior that can be prospectively Incentivizating, and such good play helps one grow a decent reputation. It's the wild wild west on Twitter, but because it's already established, the rot is always overlooked.
