Always be at work on time and do some extra things that are not asked of you.</p>\n<p>Learning new skills is always good and being the reliable hard worker is a good way of earning respect from your peers. Some employees fail to realise that your job that you were hired to do is your main duty but being able to help in other areas even though not stipulated should be as important.</p>\n<p>I have always gone above and beyond what was expected of me and have become a key player in any company because of it. If I didn't understand something I made it a priority that I learnt what it was so i could be beneficial in the future.</p>\n<p>Volunteering when no one else wants to do something, like staying after hours to help with a task that needs completing. it shows that you are committed to the company and you have a strong work ethic.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pklmp2t8x","appParentAuthor":"ashleysha","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

Once we do that, gradually, our boss would notice that we are really dedicated to the job but actually we feel that the job would be fun.</p><p>If a person can't really perform well but requires being the pet of a boss to impress the boss, it won't sustain in the long run. Other employees would always view this individual as a traitor (that's what I always feel).</p><p>But of cause basic things that we need to do in order to at least maintain at a level which the boss can appreaciate at a minimal is our appearance. It should be at least at a level which matches what the society deems acceptable.</p><p>Impressing ourself is the way to impress the boss.
