Google + is a good example of a great product that just wasn't able to overtake the giant that is Facebook. Google + had some really awesome features that should have been game changing to the social media landscape. Circles are the best example of that. Being able to post different things to the people I work with vs my family vs my friends is a huge deal. You might be able to do that now with Facebook, but not nearly as easily as it was with Google +.
\n
Second, Facebook and Steemit are really two very different products. There is no vehicle for interaction built into Steemit like there is for Facebook. Most of the interaction about Steemit takes place off of Steemit. It just makes more sense to have a conversation with someone in a Discord channel than to carry on a series of posts with them on Steemit.
\n
Finally, Iike I started with, it is just too difficult for the mass public to learn about public, private, and active keys. If they were able to create some form of single sign on application that ties into an existing Google account you might see a lot more adoption of blockchain based programs and products.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p3lj9f28x","appParentAuthor":"koshilo","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
