Showing your team that you are not above them and scared of work will change what and how they think of you very quickly.
\n
If you understand the job they are doing you should stop and see problems as they arise. I know every job my team members are doing as I have done it before. I know how long each task takes and will never ask someone to do something i have never done before.
\n
Having this attitude I have all the respect in the world and money is never an issue. If i ask someone to do something they will just do it. They know I have their best interest at heart and if they do extra work and there are no financial rewards or bonuses on offer I will give them a morning or an afternoon off at some point when we are quieter.
\n
There are loads of benefits that you can entice them with which aren't monetary. I have never had to bribe them with it either but I will give it for work done. gaining respect is the biggest issue you have if they are only worried about monetary rewards. They should want to work for you and it is that simple.
