In December 2017, we saw how steemit laid off 70% of the staff owing to the low price of steem where it was not in a position to run the infrastructure and thereafter cost cutting measure were adopted. That was in fact a lesson for all other dApps on steem blockchain. If the dApps will rely on the infrastructure of steemit Inc then there will be fair chances of single point failure in adverse conditions. It is also obvious that there will be challenges at some point of time. So only those can survive who are self sufficient in terms of infrastructure and run their own private node.
\n
The good part is that since December most of dApps have realized this issue and have started working on their own to remain self sufficient so that they can be resilient to adversaries. The most important point is that self sufficient dApps will also enhance the spirit of decentralization of steem community, that is essential for this community too.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fkqbdnhuq","appParentAuthor":"aalom","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

Today I downloaded a java amusement (Texas Hold'em Poker 3) from the web, and I duplicated the diversion to the telephone by means of the USB link, and the diversion is working great. But I will say that there is one key aspect which is \"liquidity\" and you may again ask why the liquidity is not there because in a decentralized exchange the objective is oriented around security of fund, decentralization, privacy and it is also distributed and we all know that the blockchains by large have not become that scalable. On the other hand in centralized exchanges the fund is kept in a central account and server and hence it is easy to enhance the liquidity and as it is centralized and as the computation is done througha single point the latency is greatly reduced and hence here the objective is oriented around liquidity, low latency.
\n
Now it is obvious that the users are still factoring on scalability and latency and hence they are still leaning towards centralized exchanges despite of knowing the risk of single point failure.
\n
The best way to boost liquidity in decentralized exchange is to establish a bridge between all decentralized exchanges and make them interoperable. Second thing that is needed to be done is to improve the scalability. This thing can really improve liquidity in decentralized exchanges.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fkzhl2hgq","appParentAuthor":"iambrave","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

That means the protocol capacity should be able to interact between different blockchains and facilitate smart contracts between them.
\n
Now the question is why it is essential -- The first objective is to eliminate the third party or intermediaries, the second objective is to improve performance and the third objective is to connect between private and public chains. The third objective is key for mass adoption also.
\n
See when ever there will be enterprise level implementation of blockchain technology, then the businesses and enterprises will definitely adopt it but they will have their own protocol which will suit their business requirement. So it is apparent that there will be different use-cases and for different use-cases there will be different protocols. So for this ecosystem of blockchain technology to prosper in the next generation and to ensure mas adoption to be smooth, then it is essential that all these protocols should be able to interact and cooperate with each other. That is what interoperability is. That is why interoperability will be key for enterprise grade implementation and adoption of blockchain technology.
\n
There is no doubt that those blockchains which have interoperability at their core will be more successful in coming days and will prosper in the blockchain sphere and also will survive the test of time.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"f3xvxn7gw","appParentAuthor":"sapwood","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

json_metadata | "{"app":"musing/1.1","appTags":["Blockchain"],"appCategory":"Blockchain","appTitle":"Under what circumstances, a second layer protocol is needed the most in Blockchain?","appBody":"
When the cryptocurrency on the top of blockchain started back in 2009, at that time the primary objective was decentralized system which aimed to disrupt the traditional and monopolized centralized system. So you can say, at that time the blockchain technology was first generation blockchain. With the passage of time the blockchain goes through the evolution process and with that process the various new use-cases and usability evolve in as an expansion to the dcentralized economy backed with blockchain technology. If 2009 was the 1st generation blockchain technology then in 2014, the birth of Etherum can be attributed as second generation blockchain technology and it on-boarded the smart contract in to the blockchain technology.
\n
The ecosystem of blockchain technology is further expanding and it is a continuous process and it is in that gradual process to make the entire world and the businesses to set into a decentralized ecosystem. So moving in to 2017-18, the use-cases of blockchain technology and its application further demands something more and this time it needs more dApps and hence more supportive environment which can enable those dApps to perform seamlessly. For that we need scalable blockchain and that gives rise to the birth of high scalable chain like EOS. So this can be attributed as a third generation blockchain.
\n
But the second generation blockchain like Etherum has to perform better to remain in the race and with the passage of time it has to upgrade its technology and accomodate various other standards to remain in the demand space of the market and it should be such that it should not become obsolete or less competitive. So the second generation blockchains needs to perform better, scale better with low latency and in order to achieve that there is a requirement of second layer protocol which can make the user experience better. The second layer protocol mainly runs off the main chain and do not over burden the main chain and do not consume the resources of main chain. The best example of second layer solutions for Etherum are- Sharding, Plasma, Raiden Network etc. Raiden network facilitates off-chain transfer of ERC 20 tokens. In Sharding, simultaneous verification of data can be possible which can reduce the latency and hence can improve scalability. In Plasma, child chains are created on the top of main chain which relays the information to the main chain. So the second layers protocol can be considered as an upgradation to the second generation blockchain like Etherum to meet the requirement in the era of third generations where the smart economy demands enhanced scalability.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkc34y8gw","appParentAuthor":"sapwood","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

The question is if we know who has the account and from where money goes there.
\n
You can make a totally anonymous account of the following way: download a Bitcoin (ether etc.) address generator software to an offline computer. Generate a new address. (\"Cold wallet\".) Deposit the keys in a very safe place. Send money to this address. Never put the keys online until you need the money.
\n
But the sending address should be also anonymous to hide you. You can make an online wallet from a public internet connection, hiding your identity with VPN (proxy) server or Tor network. And buy crypto from an anonymous, random person (for example some stranger in an internet cafe, or some offshore peer-to-peer trading system.) Send this crypto to your cold wallet mentioned above.
\n
Other options (more supplementary): use special privacy cryptos, or crypto mixers. (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=bitcoin+mixer)
\n
Bitcoin safety is another issue. Basically proof-of-work ledger makes the system safe, the effort miners have to make to register data in blockchain. You need the energy of entire power plants to take over the control of the system.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fknslnhgq","appParentAuthor":"thomas90","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |

These keys are random strings of numbers and are cryptographically related to one another. Although the public and private keys are related to one another, it is mathematically impossible for a user to guess a user's private key from their public key. This provides an increase in security benefits and protects from potential hackers or malicious users or bad actors. As far as the user's public key is concerned it can be shared with other users' in the network, as they do not give any information regarding personal data.
\n
In addition to the above, each user has an address, which is derived from the public key using a hash function. These addresses are furthermore used to send and receive crypto assets on the blockchain. Because blockchain networks are shared to all participants, users can view past transactions and activity that has occurred on the blockchain. On the blockchain, senders' and receivers' of past transactions are represented and signified by their addresses. Due to this, users' identities are not revealed. Public addresses do not reveal any personal information or identification, rather, public addresses act as pseudonymous identities. This allows users' to have their identities relatively concealed on the blockchain.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fknslnhgq","appParentAuthor":"thomas90","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
