<p>The Steem blockchain, with all of the dapps and platforms coming out is so much more than just a social media platform. &nbsp;<strong>Steem is so ahead of its time that it can't be &nbsp;categorized with traditional terminologies.</strong></p>
<p>Some of the front-ends of the Steem blockchain like <strong>Steemit.com</strong> and <strong>Busy.org</strong> could be seen as social media platforms. But, as you might already know they have a crucial difference when compared to other social media platforms which is &nbsp;that, they <strong>take away the power</strong> from the greedy corps like <strong>facebook </strong>and <strong>instagram</strong> who take all of the profits for themselves and <strong>return it to the driving force</strong> behind the value, the userbase.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Then we got <strong>dapps</strong> like Dtube which do the same but, in the video content creation spectrum, Vimm.tv for live streaming, Steepshot.io for pictures, Steempress for converting blog posts into Steemit posts, Musing.io for Q/A's, Actifit for fitness, Fundition for fundraising, and many others with more coming out every week. All of them blong to <strong>different categories</strong>, with their roots beeing the Steem blockchain, &nbsp;they have the <strong>motive to reward</strong> their users for the work they put into <strong>creating content</strong> for mentioned platforms.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>With all of the dapps and projects that &nbsp;are built on top of the Steem blockchain and with all of the new ones coming out that are all in different spectrums and serve different use cases Steem is increasingly hard to categorize as one thing when it's so much more than that.</strong>&nbsp;</p>
<p>So what is Steem then?&nbsp;</p>

<p>A place where hard work, persistency and quality is, and will always be, appreciated and rewarded accordingly.</p>
<p>A place for developers to create revolutionary dapps and projects that will shake the world to its foundations and offer monetary rewards for things most of us usually do elsewhere, but never get paid for it.&nbsp;</p>
