The bulbs still work fine, it was the App to control them that disappeared - but that is more to do with Apple and it's close control of iOS apps. Every time Apple updates iOS it's app store apps free or paid for have to update too - if they don't get updated for the latest version then they are removed from the store. So the bulb maker had an app that only supported their old product - had no intent on spending money updating the app to the latest iOS version so just let it get removed from the app store. No app, smart bulb is now dumb - plus if you had it set on a certain dim setting it isn't even a useful bulb. To be fair this could have just been a "me" problem because I only have Apple devices - the bulb app might still be available on Google Play store - but other then buying an Android phone or tablet just to work my smartbulbs I will never know!
