We've had more misty goodness lately, as the settled weather continued across the South East of England. On Saturday, I headed to the ponds. It was still relatively dark, and the waning crescent moon was setting in a very photogenic location. I took a similar shot to this that I shared on a previous post, but this is a much better image. The water is calmer here, the moon located in a more pleasing position for this location, the sky is more interesting, and there is more mist.

The tripod didn't need to be moved very far, to get a lovely view for sunrise. There was enough mist and high cloud to render a very pretty, pastel sky.

I was really hoping that the mist would filter into some of the wooded areas, but they all remained mist free. I haven't taken any woodland images for a few months, and it's one of my favourite things to photograph.
Once the sun was up, I fished my 80-400mm lens out of my bag, (the novelty of owning this lens will take a while to wear off!) and wandered back to the gate, keeping my eye out for some deer....

There are lots of jackdaws living in the park. They LOVE to land on the deer and nibble at their fur and antlers. I am assuming that the deer probably have a few fleas, and other tasty morsels living on their fur, for the birds to eat. The deer tolerate it to a degree, but the birds often end up being shooed off by their host.
