Greetings brethren,
I am sharing with you what I learnt from the Bible study that was held today on zoom.
#### Important points I learnt are,
According to Exodus 20:5 the Bible said we should not worship idols for God is a jealous God. I sold were made by man so you don't have to worship it.
If you worship idols then it means you hate God.
In the same verse, God said he will visit the iniquity of the father upon the children and this means that he will visit the iniquities of the Idol worshippers because they hate God.
They don't want to obey God they hate God that is why they decided to worship idols.
God is justice and only those who hate him will be punished. You will receive punishment for the evil you do.
God does not visit the sin of the father and punish the son. That is not what he meant when he said he will visit the sin of the father.
God's visitation on the generation is based on giving them a second chance to repent. God is a loving God he visits for salvation. The intention of God visitation is to give a chance for them to repent and change. But if you refuse to repent then you will be punished.
God is good to all. He is tender for that matter he doesn't do evil as some people say.
In Isaiah 45:7 when he said he creates evil does not mean he does evil.
The evil that God said means that he gives warning. God will not do wicked as the book of Job said.
God wanted to destroy Nineveh, he wanted to over throne them after 40 days. But the people of Nineveh believed God and they fasted and prayed and when God saw their works, he repented of the evil he wanted to do to them.
Even though God is devising evil against Israel, he still gives them the chance to repent of their sins.
So it is clear that God is a loving God and not doing evil as some people say.
According to the 1John 5:18, The devil cannot touch the people of God. So if there is evil that will come to the people of God then it will be God himself.
But if you repent of your evil then God will change his mind of what he wants to do to you.
The evil that God will do is the punishment that he will do to his people.
#### My Old believes improved upon.
I had also believed in what others said about God visits the iniquities of our fathers on us and our generation and he punishes us.
But Bro Eli has explained to me that the visitation is to give a second chance and not to punish us for the sin of our fathers.
#### How the study affects my life.
I have now realized that God is loving and not evil so he gives chance for us to repent of our ways and so I will make sure I obey him and ask him to guide me obey his words of righteousness.
