Before Steemit? - Already lived 29 years of my life, went through some of the best moments of life, followed by what they label as 'failures' and 'moments of distress' in a broader perspective. What i remember from those 29 years is the urge to 'try', right after each blow I had, each time I got knocked down to the ground in one way or another. But it was about time that I was giving up on myself in a lot of different ways.

Since my early days, I was into sports.. Really wanted to be a professional cricketer or a table tennis player representing my country at an international level. Sadly enough, if you even dare to dream of wearing that green Pakistan shirt with your name on it and playing for your country, either you need to bribe millions for that, or you need to have some really good contacts at the top. Well, obviously didn't have either of that, so I went on and tried to pursue higher education abroad. Due to not-so-good-looking financial turmoil at home, had to give up that, too. In between, I did have some serious interest in music as well, and the first time I actually compiled some tracks for a school play, well, that was the phase of me wanting to be Hans Zimmer someday. Again, third world country with all the problems you can imagine, so yes, going for a music school was out of the list, too. Soon I had to start with a 9-5 at a software house while I was doing my Bachelor's and while I write this, I am still at that software house working my ass off to meet ends for my family and the ones who look up to me. 

After Steemit - Well, after my colleague and a very good friend of mine, @ghulammujtaba introduced me this wonderful platform with all the beautiful people and their stories, it didn't take me long to get addicted to this - Not only the stories I read, but all the passion, the heartbreak, the energy and liveliness I see in people through their words, it inspires me each time I log in to my account. It inspires me each time I go through a post or a comment. Numerous times I have related to people, their past events and occurrences, the way they coped up with it and never fucking gave up on themselves - that's the hope, the faith and courage I have rediscovered here, when I was, to be very honest, on the crossroads of giving up on my self and the monotony I have been part of since years. 

Words do have the power to do so much! Been just a couple of months and I have already started to think in a way that I have never been able to since years. The dreams I had, the dreams that never really ended within me, have been on a long 'pause' already and for the very first time in the past so many years, I have decided to chase my dreams in music - oh yes! So what if I'm 30 now? There is never a 'too late' thing to me to be honest. I've already started to save for a piano, a basic Roland or something and soon I will be doing my own music. In addition to this,  this platform has connected me to a whole lot of wonderful souls from all around the world, who I might have never known my entire life had I not been here. The struggles they've went through, the ups and downs they've seen in their lives, the laughter and the grief they've been part of. 

So I thank you all out there, for opening up about your lives and all the little moments you've been part of, and certainly that's what I will be doing, too, sharing my life experiences in return - let's keep touching lives. Let's keep connecting! There are still a number of quiet, tormented souls out there and the only thing that can ignite 'life' back in them is us and our stories.
