The keto diet is all about changing your eating habits, instead of eating carbs you are eating fat, that sounds wrong but carbs are your enemy and produce spikes in in your blood sugar. What does this mean, well when you feel hungry that is because your blood sugar has dropped and you are needing your next fix to bring it back up. One thing I know is the keto diet makes you release ketones that are the things that burn fat, but your liver will only produce this when you drop the carbs. One of the things I wasn't looking forward to was fasting while on keto, while fasting normally means to one person that you are starving your self for a period of time, to me this means I am opening the gap between last and first meal. Since starting the keto diet I have seen a difference in my eating pattern, I was before eating 3 to 4 meals a day and snaking on top. Now I have 2 meals a day with a 16 hour gap between my last and fist meal, that means my fasting window is 16 hours a day. Every few days I like to make sure that I am in ketosis, and I do this by peeing on a stick, this stick tells me by urine that I am in ketosis or not. While ever I produce a purple reading I am in ketosis which means I am loosing weight. One thing I noticed when I was doing the testing was that the purple has got darker, which means I am in deep ketosis. Does the fasting really get us into ketosis quicker, well the proof for me is right there with the readings. At the start I was eating 3 meals a day and it was a purple reading, my eating range was about 10/14. I am now eating twice a day and the readings are a darker purple, this means that the fasting really does help you into a deeper keto. One thing I would like to do is try a 20 hour fast for a week to see if the results change with that. This is something I think I will try next week as tomorrow I am going to my mums birthday meal and I have to eat something. One thing I am going to do while there is keep to the keto diet, I have already looked at the menu and I have already have chosen what I will be eating, and the mix grill is something that I will be eating. I am also going to be starting some exercising next week as I don't want to have skin hanging anywhere when the weight has gone. I have picked up on a few things, it is hard to eat 75% fat, 20% protein and 5 % carbs. but if you cook in good fats it works out better. I tend to use butter and oil to cook my food in to make sure that it has an increased amount of fat, I leave skin on my chicken and eat that too. I have also found deep frying my chicken skin to make it more crisp makes it easier to eat. I have been fuller for longer and I am feeling the best I have felt in years. I don't miss carbs and I don't miss my night time fix of chocolate. I am focused. and loosing weight, these are two things that I have wanted since I've been fat.

I didn't but the first day was the hardest, it has been getting easier, I find 8 glasses of water a day keeps me going, I am not tired but that first day I was so so tired that I thought I was going to sleep for a week.
