Vienna Hive Meetup: Onboarding (creating new Hive accounts) is still an issue and here is why.

Onboarding (neue Hive-Accounts anzulegen) ist immer noch ein Problem und hier ist der Grund.

GM, war gestern wieder auf dem Hive-Stammtisch in Wien und wir konnten wieder eine neue Userin begrüßen, die gerne einen Hive-Account anlegen würde, aber das ist gar nicht so einfach.

hiveonbaord.com (@hiveonboard) funktioniert nicht mehr (Service unavailable) und auch über @ecency gibt es Schwierigkeiten.

Als kostenlose Alternativen bleiben noch @leofinance oder falls man ein Delphin ist kann man Accounts über die @peakd Wallet oder hiveinvite.com anlegen. Dazu braucht man Account Creation Token und relativ viele Ressource Credits (derzeit circa 6250 HP pro Token).

### Warum ist es so schwierig Hive Accounts anzulegen?

Blockchain-Space ist super wertvoll, Blockchains skalieren nicht so gut, Blockchain Trilemma, und da Hive-Transaktionen kostenlos sind, ist das Anlegen der Accounts eben komplizierter.

Dazu kommt noch der große Erfolg von @splinterlands, der einen massiven Rush auf Hive-Accounts gebracht hat.

Insgesamt ist die Onbaording-Experience nicht ideal, wer will schon Geld bezahlen, um einen Social-Media-Account anzulegen?

Andererseits sind mit einem Hive-Account auch viele Freiheiten verbunden. Es ist eine Art Freemium-Modell. Es ist möglich, ohne Geld zu investieren loszulegen, mit kleinen Hürden, aber wer ein bisschen in HP investiert, kann mehr Transaktionen abwickeln, bekommt mehr Einfluss, kann in Krypto-Games und DeFi-Apps einsteigen etc.

GM, was at the Vienna Hive Meetup yesterday and we could welcome another new user who would like to create a Hive account, but it's not that easy.

hiveonbaord.com (@hiveonboard) does not work anymore (service unavailable) and there are also difficulties via @ecency.

Free alternatives are @leofinance or if you are a dolphin you can create accounts via the @peakd wallet or hiveinvite.com. For this you need account creation tokens and quite a lot resource credits (currently about 6250 HP per token).

### Why is it so difficult to create hive accounts?

Blockchain space is super valuable, blockchains don't scale that well, blockchain trilemma, and since Hive transactions are free, creating accounts is just more complicated.

Add to that the huge success of @splinterlands, which has brought a massive rush of Hive accounts.

Overall, the onbaording experience is not ideal, who wants to pay money to create a social media account?

On the other hand, there are a lot of freedoms associated with a Hive account. It's a kind of freemium model. It's possible to get started without investing any money, with small hurdles, but if you invest a bit in HP you can handle more transactions, get more influence, get into crypto games and DeFi apps, etc.

Mir gehen die Tickets aus so Langsam. Sonst würde ich schon einen Account erstellen. 

Aber was will man mit seinen 5 Tickets erreichen alle halbe Jahr? Die meisten Menschen welche man Einläd, bleiben nicht. So meine Erfahrung. 

Deswegen finde ich eine Bezalhürde nicht zuletzt als Miner völlig Normal, wenn man eine Blockchain nutzen möchte, dann muss man auch dafür bezahlen, was getan werden soll auf ihr. 

Das ist mein Täglich Brot, die Gebühr für die Transaktionen. Anders sehe ich das mit den Hive Accounts auch nicht. Ist ja nichts weiter als ein Eintrag in die Blockchain und damit eine Transaktion. Wenn man die Bezahlen kann, meist durch die RC eben, dann ist Gut. Irgendwann haben wir zu wenig Hive, um genug Accounts mit Hive Power zu versorgen. Ich finde, das wird eine spannende Zeit. Denn der Code ist nur so lange Gesetzt, bis er geändert wird.

Das Problem dürfte sich also von Selbst lösen, mit der Zeit, falls es Existiert-

Denn ich denke, jeder der auf Hive kommen will, schafft das auch. ;-) Alle anderen, dürfen gerne Fern bleiben, bis sie auch wirklich wollen.

Ja, das ist auch ein guter Punkt, man kann die Account-Erstellungs-Gebühr auch als Tx-Gebühr sehen. Ist auch nicht so schlimm, solange die Gebühr nicht so teuer wird, wichtiger ist, dass man den Account sofort anlegen kann und nicht mehr so wie ganz am Anfang zu Steemzeiten Wochen lang auf den Account warten musste.

I would take the example from WAX blockchain and the solution for WAX Cloud Wallet which ensures authentication with various instruments like Google, Twitter, Facebook, Discord, Reddit and many others. Behind the scene also a WAX account is created. And I think Leo Finance does the same, just that it needs to extend it. We are on the right path and we'll get there, wish just to have a push to get there faster which will ensure faster expansion.

Oh das ist aber dann echt ein Problem wenn man nur noch über Ecency derzeit neu in die Blockchain kommt, oder?  Die Idee war doch eher (wenn ich es richtig im Kopf habe) das onboarding zu erleichtern und nicht das Gegenteil. 😏
Meine es war zB. mal im Gespräch einen Zugang/Brücke über Twitter und Leofinance zu bauen.

gute Frage, vielleicht haben sie keine Account Creation Token mehr? bin mir nicht sicher, ob das Signup über peakd geht, da es ja auch hive onboard verwendet, oder? Über die peakd wallet (Account Creation Token) würde es aber gehen.

Very true, creating Hive accounts has become extremely difficult. Even a friend of mine was being sold an already created one but with HP for about $100.

Diese Problematik war mir gar nicht bewusst. Ich hab schon mehrere neue User über peakd.com angelegt. Dein Post war für mich der Anlass, wieder mal paar Account Creation Token zu claimen. Wenn Bedarf besteht, einfach mal anfragen. Keys und Recovery Account kann/sollte vom neuen User dann selbständig geändert werden.

I'm onboarding people through BlockTrades and think that is the "easiest" way for now. The only problem could be that it's not free but $2 doesn't seem like too much as well.

I've told a few people about Hive but they never told me if they signed up or not so I don't really know the process anymore. I remember it used to take 7 days, which felt like an eternity at the time lol

I noticed this too. I onboarded someone about two months ago, @johnmacmahon.  There were other free options.  I sent him to signup.hive.io.  As well as the time of your post, at the time Hiveonboard wasn't working.  Perhaps it is inherent in the architecture of a Steem-like blockchain to have these kinds of problems. LBRY already has way more users.

Das natürlich blöd.
Eine Art Sponsoring wäre ja nicht verkehrt. Da wäre es ja gut, wenn.man einen Reflink generieren könnte mit Hive, und der Erstellte Account würde mit den ersten Einnahmen das zurück zahlen, also durch z.B. 10% Beneficery.

War bei @peakd so, dass zumindest einen HIVE bekommen hast ;-) Ich sehe es auch ein wenig als Herausforderung, wenn das so Mühsam ist. Immerhin wollen wir ja alle Wachsen. Anderseits wo Rarität und Mangel herrscht, steigt der Wert. Das wiederum könnte bedeuten, dass wir mehr reine Investoren beim HIVE bekommen und wir darüber hinaus uns glücklich schätzen dürfen ...

Ich bin immer noch überzeugt, dass wir hier noch am Anfang und in Kinderschuhen stecken.

zuerst cool das ihr euch wieder getroffen habt,
**ABER es ist für mich beschämend und enttäuschend zugleich**
zu lesen, das 3 alte Hasen  @vikisecrets, @manncpt und @schmidi 
es nicht schaffen einen Account für jemanden zu erstellen!!
Noch dazu, an jemand der zum Meetup persönlich erscheint!
6,1 Hive für einen neuen User , via Blocktrades,
bzw. eigentlich 4,1 weil 2 Hive werden an die wallet gesendet,
hättet ihr allemal zusammen gebracht!!
Nur als beispiel, du hättest ihr das ermöglicht,
würden die nach diesem post hier noch immer 4 Hive und 11 HBD übrig bleiben!!

Oder ihr hättet auf die Ausschüttung verzichtet, 
dann wäre auch der Account bezahlt gewesen....

Anfrage im Discord wäre auch möglich gewesen, und und und....

Interessant gerade @manncpt, war bei uns in Graz beim letzten meetup in Graz dabei,
als ich jemanden einen Account geschenkt hatte....

Selbst einem Witness wie @cervisia, @satren, oder grössere Gönner 
wie @balte, @condeas hätten euch weiterhelfen können.

Selbst @stayoutoftherz hätte euch bestimmt einen Account Creations Token gegeben.

Schätze ich werde euch noch eine Video Anleitung machen müssen wie man einen 
Account auf die schnelle erstellt....

Ihr nehmt alle so gerne das Wort Community in den Mund,
wo ward ihr als eine Hilfe suchende füe einen Account bei euch war??

So jetzt hab ich Schnauze voll,
das musste jetzt mal raus!!

Lg an die Wiener Hive Community, wie @manncpt, es immer betont, 🤠
und natürlich lg an alle Crypto Blogger der Welt da drausen!! 🤠

Ps.: Sogar in der Schweiz hatte man direkt beim Meetup

Ich weiß nicht wie du darauf kommst, dass wir es nicht schaffen Accounts zu erstellen. Die neuen sind @shanaya.sky, @i-am-root und @yoshi721. Komm lieber mal persönlich vorbei, dann verstehst du auch nichts falsch. Ohne @vikisecrets, @schmidi und mich würde es keinen Meetup in Wien geben. Das Hauptproblem weshalb Viki einen Post gemacht hat ist, dass @hiveonboard nicht mehr funktioniert.

Also ich habe erst letztens @petitegirlvee auf die HIVE gebracht. Wie schon in mehreren Kommentaren erwähnt über @ecency und das funktionierte gut. Auch ich hatte zuerst Schwierigkeiten mit dem Onboarding, den ich Blogge zwar hier schon etwas Länger, jedoch als einen superhyperdrüber Experte bezeichne ich mich hier nicht ;-) 

Jedoch mit @ecency funkte es und darüber hinaus habe ich 70 HBD delegiert.
Die Frage die ich mir auch in dem Zusammenhab stelle: Wenn ich jetzt meinen @peakd Reflink verschicke, bringt das aktuell nichts. Oder irre ich da?

Vielleicht ist das ein bisschen falsch rüber gekommen, wir haben die Accounts mittlerweile erstellt, ich wollte nur darüber berichten, welche grundsätzlichen Schwierigkeiten es mit dem Onboarding derzeit gibt und wie man diese lösen kann. Habe schon vor dem Meetup Einladungen über hiveinvite.com verschickt und danach persönlich Kontakt mit allen aufgenommen, die sich anmelden wollten und ihnen dabei geholfen.
